Sounds like a great time to me, and well worth £5!
Good luck to all those playing bingo when it starts!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

See you at the stables...Marru
Oh I'm in there already baby, yeee-haaaaaaaaa! :rotfl:
Good choice of drink SophiesMum, I'm an avid fan of lime and soda, not only because it's lovely but also because if you ask for real lime pieces instead of the squash, it's free! :T
Marru, bit early for the giggles isn't it? :rotfl:The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Anyone else going to attempt the impossible and try to claim all their allotted free tickets? I keep trying it but just never make it through the night. If it looks like I'm in the stables that doesn't mean I'm awake, it just means I'm trying to run the computer right through and attempting to be avoid auto-disconnect - pesky wee nuisance! :rotfl:
I need a few wins to bump up my interest beater and to make my housefund look more realistic but I think I need more like £70,000 than £70.
I did manage to get out into the garden for an hour later on this afternoon and have turned over more of the veggie patch in preparation for the carrots, onions and brocolli. I can't believe how quickly the potatoes are growing! We have 6 rows planted now and I've had to bank them all up already. All my tubs are lined up along the wall awaiting filling with herbs and salad leaves, but I am tempted to try some peppers & tomatoes outside if I can make some sort of temporary greenhouse. It would be so much better if we knew for sure how long we could stay here or where we could move next, if we don't get an extension to our existing lease.
(Going to look at a house tomorrow! Pretend you can't see this part.)
Mumzy, if you are still awake, log into your Gala account and you can start 'buying' the free tickets now. I've already claimed 6 lots of 12. You'll find them in Amazon, Country, Dreams, Gala, Royal and Seaside sections and you can get your tickets up to an hour in advance.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Andromache - What a brilliant seminar and how useful the information will be! Any idea about the rules on fallen branches and logs in the forests?
lol, your jaffa cake shenanigans did make me giggle!
I know, I was very excited by the fact that I'd literally just been reading my testbook on exactly that topic! Obviously there's no case on fallen branches etc as unless you're taking an industrial quantity I doubt anyone would prosecute! However, technically speaking, a movable which is on someone's land (i.e. it's not growing on the land or part of a permanent structure) is property for the purposes of the Theft Act... and there's a case which establishes that the owner of land controls any property on it, even if they don't know of its existence, so technically the wood could be stolen. BUT you have to be taking the item dishonestly, and dishonesty is measured by the standards of ordinary people, and most ordinary people would probably think it was OKthough it's all very poorly-defined and uncertain so, er, don't quote me on that
There's another possible way of getting round it by saying that you think the owner of the wood would consent if he knew. It's an area of law where there's lots of discretion on the part of the prosecutor and on the part of the jury so it's a bit difficult to say exactly what would happen, but I really doubt anyone would be convicted or prosecuted for it as the jury would never send them down. (Isn't it a bit scary that theft is so poorly defined! You'd have thought that such an important law which affects so many everyday transactions would be a little clearer...)
I have a horrible feeling that an actual criminal lawyer is going to come along now and tell me that I've got it all wrong :rotfl:

Show me a criminal lawyer who needs to study how to live on 4k per year and I'll show you someone who has a serious problem. :rotfl::rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Actually, I am being told time and again that 'crime doesn't pay' because criminal law is mostly legal-aid work and in the early years your fees just cover your train fare to the courtroom. Of course, everything is relative...! You're right that there's unlikely to be one on this thread
Won anything on the bingo yet?! Every week i tell myself that I should get my gala account reactivated :rolleyes:Live on £4000 a Year Challenge member
