Bity 'off topic' here but I've just come across some nursery type fabric.......pale blue with pictures of animals on it. I must have either bought it or been given it last year before grandson was born. I think I had the intention of wrapping his first teddy in it and then changed my mind. Now I've re-discovered it what can I do with it ? Bear in mind I don't have a sewing machine.
It's about 3ft long by 18 inches.
Why not make what they call a
throw cushion/pillow.sew the edges
together with blanket stitch.
Put in washable filler.Idea is you just chuck
the whole thing in the washer when it
needs a wash.Handier than you think
if the kids want to lay or sit on the
floor to watch telly or use their games
machines they are not using your best
ones to do it.when your getting all the
junk from under their beds that seems
to accumilate there is somethng handy
to kneel on ot drag it all out.
Or they can whack each
other and generaly throw it round without
doing too much damage.
Or when they are
poorly laid out on the settee
" Can I ave me cushion ? "
Its something you can sew together
in very little time thats quite useful.

another thing that you could
try in IKEA they sell scented
candles & t lights.They sell
ones with a strawberry scent.
they are really cheap too you get
loads of t lights in a pack.
If your not near IKEA I know
Sainsburys sell nice ones and often
have them on offer.
These days lots like to light candles
in their bathrooms so it might look
nice with some t lights as a variation
or addition to what you have here.:j:j:j0 -

rosekitten - glad the robins were ok.
Nursery fabric....if I make a cushion it'll have to be for grandson. The kids I look after are in their teens. Grandson will be a year old in June so think he's a bit young.
I can use some of it to make a birthday card for him..........still leave me with a fair bit though.
Love the idea of frothy coffee tray and could kick myself...........Wednesday in one of the charity shops there were two cups and saucers plus two spoons with cappacino printed on them ...............and I didn't get them.............
What on earth was wrong with me
Might have to rush down tomorrow and see if they're still there which I expect they won't be. Oh well, win some, lose someMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Where would you get the original source miniatures? I have the full size ones that I bought from Tesco at half price. Great idea about the soaps
Ive seen the little minatures in superdrug as I used them when I made party bags up for my sisters 21st.
Im sure if you go to the original source website they send out free samples of the shower gel. I got one ages ago.. it was the original mint one and was totally lush!
My friend went mad buying the half price full size bottles in Tesco today....:rotfl:0 -
princesspoppypop wrote: »rosekitten - I was thinking about your cupcake cushions and thought it would look lovely if an individual cup cake was cut from the fabric and embellished with beads, ribbon and sequins, then this was sewn onto the front of the cushion so it stands out a little.
your right I have lost the flex off my machine
I know its somewhere here but cant find it.
I was thinking of some kind of applique effect
I was looking at cushions in laura Ashley
oh the prices nothing under £20.:j:j:j0 -
Im going to have a go at it when I get myself some cupcake fabric.
I love working with beads and ribbon and am sure the cushions would look really pretty.
For now Im attempting an butterfly cushion... plain cushion decorated with embellished butterflies from a template I have created. Hope it works.
rosekitten- I`m sorry to ask but how do I post my pics onto the threads from photobucket??0 -

pics that when you click on them enlarge
into a big pic.this is how its done.
click the little square just under the pic
