All this talk of knickers remindsme I have to go out and buy some more tomorrow. Mine seem to be slowly disappearing....and I'm not sure where
Certainly not thongs though. lol
Taadaa - how many have you had now?
xSealed Pot Challenge No. 9140 -
Oh, I don't lose knickers, just socks! My washing machine eats them. And the occasional t-shirt. Or that could just be my mother, hijacking them... That wouldn't shock me either!
I also have issues with tea-towels. They just disappear. Don't even make it to the washing machine... Hmm....**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -

And (if it's ok to begin a sentence with a co-ordinating conjunction... Granny?) I won't correct your 'been' to 'being'[/QUOTE]

well, this is the debate, granny. It's like a split infinitive - to me they sound as ugly as Wolves football on a cold Tuesday evening in December, but I know the boffins are undecided. As for King James, would you still begin a sentence with "Thou"? At the risk of becoming even more controversial, what relevance has the King James version in the world of Darwin?
I'll get me coat0 -
Pixiedust - that's the one! I bought it as it has Frankie & Bennies, Chiquitos and Pizza Express in it which seem to be the places my frineds go for birthdays etc....
Forgive me forummates for I have synned. Tomorrow is our pseudo- 14th Feb so tonight I planned to be especially good in advance. It didn't work out that way though, I was celebrating beating my bank , drank two bottles of red wine and then went and got a bag of chip shop chips. The irony is that if I wasn't tipsy there's no way I'd have fancied the chips. Catch 44. I feel awful now after reading how good you guys are being, I feel like I've let the side down. There's no way I can claw it back tomorrow as that would be disrespectful to MrsA - she's insisted that she totally treat me to my perfect Italian (not Sophia Loren) as her way of saying thanks for the last few months. My dumbness tonight has left me with a WL problem. Grrr @ me. I have to have 2 really naughty nights in a week and will undoubtedly gain. I have no way out and it's all my dumb fault0 -
A Catch-44? Wow. That must be bad! But then... Bad weeks happen. Just remember that Sunday onwards, things can easily go back to how you would like them to be, and even if there is a gain this week, it can (and will) be repaired
And if Andie can't scan it, I'm sure I can find time to do that when I get back to uni on Sunday night and PM it if it is needed**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
Right i got about 14 minutes to talk about bras. Blimming hell!!
I'll put stuff into categorys. Hope not to offend here but lets be honest we all need help with our boobs. God help me is all im saying. I'll then put about the fit of them at the end of the linkages!
Big Boobed ladies of the DD+ variety:
The bra below you HAVE to get. I dont think ive ever in my whole time fitted someone into this that it didnt look bloody excellent. It just works, and its great for showing how a bra should look when you get it right.

Something pretty that looks good on also:

Ladies who need help!:
Ultimo or Atlantis if you really wanna go for it. I usually find that your boobs work for either one or the other. Im an ultimo girl, my heart lies there because it was the first one to give me a cleavage! I often get them in the sale so look out for either! Heres a fave of mine:
http://www.ultimodirect.com/shop/seduction-plunge-bra-removable-gel-718?clid=787
Atlantis by panache is the other make:
http://www.panache-lingerie.uk.com/Atlantis/t-shirt.php
More every day t shirt stuff rather than cleavage.
Gossards superboost is another good one to try. Debenhams Ultimate range is also good and cheaper. Nice for t shirt wearage. About £16 a pop but often have 20% off at various sale times.
Women who sag:
Balcony works best. The softer the cup the better. Plunge styles that have a small bit in the middle dont work, you get a big gap at the top of the cup and you spill out of the bottom. A nice deep central bit in the middle of the cup is what to look out for. Wonderbra is never a go go! Sadly when this day comes alot of women want lift and think wonderbra is the answer but sadly no. Best bet is to make the best out of a bad situation!
This is the kinda style youre looking for, or close to it.

Women who have one boob alot bigger than the other:
If this is the case then you have to fit to the larger breast, no amount of bulging over the top is any good. It may take awhile to get the bra that works for you as each case is different.
Soft cups that mould to your shape are the best option. Debenhams doesnt have the one i want to show grr. Anyway, you want something that is inbetween a balcony and a plunge, not one or the other.
Similar to this http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_18467_369590_-1
I advise on cotton too.
Bras for blokes to buy women:
If i were you, i would buy underwear she doesnt normally go for. Have a rummage through the draw and get her size. Simple is usually best, something with a bit of wow to it.
Debenhams ultimate range: padding inside, bit of red. Only comes with a thong so maybe not ideal but depends obviously! http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_18474_550583_-1

The fit:
If the bra isnt a plunge style with a small bit in the middle then you shouldnt have a cleavage.
If you bulge over the top, go a cup bigger.
The band is something everyone always gets wrong. Next time you go in just try the band size down. Remember to go up a cup size every time you do this. Generally speaking if youre a size 12 you should be about a 34, size 14 a 36. Although im a 12 and wear a 32 so try it! It does leave marks yes, if it didnt it isnt doing its job! Dont worry about back fat, everyone getes it. Try going for bras that have wider wings to dispurse the fat, rather than small ones that emphasise it. ALWAYS "oomp" your boobs. Get your hand right under your boob and lift yourself into the cup so your nipples are in a good position. Youd be surprised how many people dont do this or dont do it properly. Cruicial to see the fit! Always do up your bra on the last hooks. Then once you have washed and worn your bra you can move to the middle, then the first hooks to keep it tight. When you have done all of that, lean forward and then to the side slightly, open out the wire at the side and see where youre breast begins and where the wire sits, if the wire sits on your boob then try a cup size bigger. This can be tricky to do so a mirror or your partner is normally a good bet.
Once that is done look at your profile each side, front view and then with a top on. You need to get a good idea of how they look in clothes. A nice smooth t shirt bra is a staple bra, get one in white beige a black. Strapless bras are best smooth. They will come up a bit tighter but you will need it to compensate for the 20% loss in support from your straps. They might go sideways if your DD+ but better than clear straps.
I forgot about sports bras!! Go for impact level 4 shock absorber. Above rules apply really. I also forgot non wired!
If you dont like wire for whatever reason than you really gotta make sure your band is tight and get one with two seperate cups else they'll just be there doing nothing! Shouldnt bulge over the top. Playtex are good for non wired.
Maternity Bras: get fitted often. When youre nearly due go a cup bigger to allow for breast pads and any growth. Its always hit and miss but a general rule to go by.
I am done! Phew. 11:41 been doing that for an hour haha. So much for 15 mins huh!!
If all else fails, take a photo of your boobs in a bra and i'll look, so will suggs and ajax probablyAny more questions give me a pm! ive probably missed stuff and waffled in places.
Told you i can go on for awhile :P if only i could write solidly for an hour on my essays!0 -
Vix, you're an angel. By the sounds of that, I really should try and get myself fitted again sometime soon - and before I go out and buy anymore bra's lol
(*is thinking about printing and saving a copy of that lol*)**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -

I'll dig it out tonight and we can compare
Yep, the book that andie bought is more comprehensive than the one your OH got free in her meetings ajax - but if you google noreen blackett, you can get all the info for free on her freewebs page.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

thanks for the info vix - but I still think that the bras for my size are blooming ugly and the links you provided just prove it. What I want is a smooth t- shirt style bra ( to cover my pokey raspberry ripples in work:o not a good look for a hospital I can tell you.:D ) in a size DD or above - why do they have to put that nasty polyester "lace" on the top of every large cup/back size bra to try and make it look pretty - it's a DD ++ over the shoulder boulder holder - it's NEVER going to be pretty
FYI I'm a 38E (but getting smaller)Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
