In all took around 2 weeks to get the account up and running.Just arranged initial transfer of £100 and will check over the weekend to see if successful. So far so good :rotfl:
Update £100 paid in within time guidelines.Seem to have hit problems with 3rd larger transfer though. Now 6 working days since request and no action. Consequently do not know whether funds are to be transferred or not.Have sent e-mail but not hopeful of early response. Meanwhile must leave quite large lump of cash in linked current a/c earning no interest. So much for 5.4%. If I don't hear anything within a couple of days will cancel direct debit and close account before they sterilise further funds.

Sent cheque for £10 on 6th July. This was debited from my account on 14th July. I have heard nothing since. I was planning a 6 figure investment (on £100,000 0.3% is £300) but am seriously reconsidering.

    Update 25.8.05 Still heard nothing!
  • I sent my £1 to open the Hi Saver account on the 9th July. I have heard nothing since. I telephoned on five separate occaisions and was promised a return phone call. None has been forthcoming! I have emailed using their link on their website-- also no reply! I have lost trust in this incompetent organisation
  • What a nightmare. I applied over a month ago. They then emailed me saying that they need to verify my identity despite being a holder of 5 bank accounts and 30 credit cards. I emailed them 3 times asking why they could not verify my identity and it took 2 weeks for them to respond saying that my details did not match details on Experian !. Sounds to me that they have not got their act ready for the UK market. Think I will give them a miss as I cant be bothered but I do need a replacement for ING which appear to be shafting loyal savers .

Applied for an account on 30th June and sent them an email when nothing had been heard after a week.

Received email on 11 July asking for initial deposit and sent a cheque for £1.00 the following day. Up to today this has not been presented and I have had no further communication from them.

This does not exactly fill me with confidence - (I'm glad it was only £1.00) and after reading of other peoples experience I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the Bradford & Bingley at 5.1% is a safer option.

Thanks to other money savers for their feedback!!

Coincidence? I too applied on 30 June, was asked to send cheque on 11 July, and cheque still hasn't been presented. In view of problem experienced by OldAgeTraveller I won't be doing anything (should I ever receive password etc) other than withdrawing my £1.
  • Now try getting your money back off them. Any requests on the website to transfer to linked account are met with a "limit exceeded" message. I 'phoned to determine what the problem might be and what the transfer limit is. Not much use that was! I can't find anything in the T & C's or FAQ's etc. about limits anyway. Have I missed something?
Hence my decision to bail out. Two days now since closure request was made - nothing has happened yet.
I'm now becoming a bit concerned to say the least.
  • What phone number have people had the most success with. Time to give these clowns a call as e-mail doesn't work. I would like my quid back.
  • I too applied for my account on June 30th - the day MSE flagged up the HiSave account. I received an immediate acknowledgement, and a follow-up email on July 5th asking for the initial cheque, which I sent them on July 11th and which still hasn't been presented. Not impressed!

Had no problems with opening the account, much less hastle than the major High St. banks, who would want full MI5 clearance plus your passport and 25 recent utility bills.

Would want to know more about FSA guarantees before depositing large amounts, so is it really worthwhile?

Thought there were no problems - got my email for login id and account number, cheque cashed ok, got my password through a week later, tried to sign on, and 'invalid login id or password'.
No idea what a 'cif' number is.
I did get a reply from their email - 'Please provide us with your telephone number so that we may call you'
Sent it twice and still no phone call two weeks later!
Not impressed - if I ever get access it'll probably be after the 5.4% is finished! Not that I'm that keen to let them hold any more of my money anyway.
