OMG I've just got back from taking my 2 year old trick or treating for the first time. I went with my neighbour & her 3 kids. They took us to the american estate (base housing for the american air bases & mildenhall, lakenheath & feltwell) They know how to do halloween!! Nearly every house that has people living in were out in there front gardens or garages giving out sweets to the kids. Every one was dressed up too which was great. The place was full to bursting with little people dressed up. My DD came home with a huge bag of american sweets and choc all round her face & sticky hair as she insisted on eating some of the choc & lollipops on the way round. Apparently tonight was just for us brits and they did it last night for there own kids. It comes to something when even the americans run out of sweets and have to run off to base to get more. Just have to resist all these yummy looking sweets in the kitchen. It was quite a walk so will have burnt off a few pounds hopefully. I thought my little one would be frightened because of the scary costumes but she really loved it and was soon pushing her way to the front to get her sweets. By being out too I didn't have to buy any sweets for the kids coming to our house so saved a bit of money too!!
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

Wow, thankyou so much for all your support about the job guys, it brought a tear to my eye (I'm an emotional gal me!:D) It does mean the world to me to be going back to something I love...

Grannynise, I have bucketfuls of the stuff so I'll siphon a couple of bottles off and pop it in the post :rotfl: I've got 'Two Weeks with the Queen' and 'Kensuke's Kingdom' (all about an adventure sailing round the world so right up my street!) - only 100/130 pages each so about at my level at mo!

BB, glad your bum looks great in your new trousers! :D Love the comment about sprinkling yourself with chocolate, made me laugh!

Already can't remember everything I've read, sorry guys, big day...

Did I mention that you're all lovely? :smileyhea

Edit: oh yes, I remember one thing - thanks so much for all those smilies Petrichor, they're ace!! And yes, I think you definitely have to call me Miss now...;)...the question is, Miss what?!

Ooh, and we're about to get a new kitten!!! :T We're off to see a black one tomorrow and if we think he'll be okay with Zacc (my other cat) we'll take him. Who wants to play 'name the kitten'?

Well, Halloween nights brings us our 4th and final Slimmer of the Week for October. I very big well done to Starlight_xxx who lost 4 lbs this week and is our SOTW again!

A massive congratulation to our Slimmer of the Challenge who is......julesgr who lost a whopping 11 lbs in October. Very well done. A big well done also to efrieze (me!), emmalis, nais, newlywed, queenieviolet (still with us?), and starlight_xxx who successfully achieved the October challenge.

The November challenge now runs for 5 weeks starting today and I am handing the chart back to dellybelly, so any queries, please contact her.

A big well done to Starlight and julesgr for being slimmer of the week and slimmer of the month.

Congratulations to all thos who achieved the October challend and well done to all the other loosers and maintainers.

Another great job with the chart efrieze - I'll hopefully have my weight updated again in a couple of weeks time when I am back at the doctors. I think I will also weigh myself in Boots the same day to compare and from then on weight myself once a week in Boots. That way I can hopefully join the 2lb club and the monthly challenge and see a bit of progress with myself - if you know what I mean.

OMG I've just got back from taking my 2 year old trick or treating for the first time.

My two boys are too old for guising now but I remember that people were good enough to them when they went round the doors singing their wee songs and telling jokes so I always make sure I have loads of stuff in for when the other kids round about come to my door. Most of my neighbours sit with their lights off and don't open the doors. I think they forget when their kids did the same thing.

I spent last night making up thirty wee bags with crisps, funsize sweets and home made biscuits in, hubbie bought the fruit today to go along with the "bad for you stuff" and as there were a few funsize sweets left I thought I could hide them for if I needed a wee treat.

No such luck. Without a word of a lie - we had about fifty or sixty kids at my door at various times and I ended up having to raid the cupboards to see what I could find. My two sons now have no crisps, biscuits or fruit to go in their packed lunches for the rest of the week and as for my wee treats - well they are well gone.

It is just as well no more kids came - my cupboards are now bare but I might have been able to scrape together a piece and jam for them.

Well at least they all had fun and any temptation has now been taken out of my way so I am still on the straight and narrow.
  • thanks for the chart efrieze.

Well done Starlight SOTW. And of course, everyone who made the challenge for this month.

Just a quick link - this is really funny.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
