I bought a slow cooker years ago and it came with quite an extensive recipe booklet. You lot have inspired me to dig it out! It even has a recipe for Black Forest Gateau!!!

Here are two I fancy trying:

    Creamy Rice Pudding

Butter the inside of the cooking pot. Add 400ml milk, 150ml evaporated milk, 50g pudding rice, 50g sugar. Stir and cook for 4-5 hours.

    Raspberry sponge pudding

Preheat the empty slow cooker for 20 minutes. Butter a 1 pint basin and put 2 tbsp jam in the base. In a bowl cream 2oz each of margarine and sugar until light and creamy. Gradually beat in 1 egg. Fold in 3oz sr flour and add a little milk or water to make a soft dropping consistency. Put the mix into the prepared basin, smooth the surface and cover with foil. Stand the basin in the cooking pot and pour boiling water round to come halfway up the sides. Cook for 5-6 hours.

annoyingly i didn;tdo my apples in the slow cooker - chopped tham all up after lunch yesterday, put them on the stove and then got engrossed in my work and burnt them really badly :( >:( very annoying - not only is the pan in a right state (best pan too) but whats left of the apple mush tastes smoky to say the least!!! ;D

  • I did that the other day with potatoes.  ::)

Didn't stress trying to clean it, just put some washing powder & water in it, left it over night and it just wiped off.  8)

I 'm sure I've read on here that someone else does that aswell

Got the slow cooker on now with pork in cider. Too late I remembered my daughter doesn't like mushrooms and I suppose I'll have to fish them all out before i dish up hers!
Got some Bisquick in the cupboard might try that pie crust over it - think Aussielle suggested it - yes, I think I will - I'm on a roll ;D ;D
