Their phone service is good, their internet NOT!
Re: Talk/Talk - We need more posts like this giving information. These offers look attractive, I was tempted myself, but am glad I didn't take it up and then get locked in for 12 months to a poor service!!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
Don't usually do this, but feel I should in this case. Leki & Crunchy have picked up on it, but for those who have not read Freedom2Surf's press release, you can get:-
2Mb speed
2GB traffic allowance
for £14.99 per month.
Plus, you can migrate for free (Datastream or IPStream), it's a monthly contract & their customer service is good (happy customer since 06/04), so I believe it's the best all-round package out there.
I hope any increase in customer numbers doesn't cause them problems, but they deserve success.

i migrated from metronet to EFH Broadband, which went without a hitch, now been using it for several weeks now with no problems. so at £11.75 with no limits i dont think it can be beaten, although the intial costs may be higher than others, broadband is not something you have for a short period so the savings are there month after month.0

I am with AOl Gold but I do not find it fast and its got pretty boring. I noticed on this site there is a mention of the company Madasafish, has anyone heard anything about them? I am a student and mainly download PDF files, so I would not really need a huge download amount really. :j
I find that the their customer service also have problems understanding me and there is definately a language barrier which can be very frustrating.
Im not up to speed with broadband or computers so any good advice appreciated. :eek:0 -
For any one just starting out on, If u dont have a modem or anything then Demon (aswell as many others) are doing 19.99 per month for 512kb with a free modem and no connection fees or anything else.
I have been with them for 6 months now and have had ZERO problems so far. I have used this connection for allsorts. Idownloaded about 50gb one month aswell as all my usual web browsing and e-mails and had no problems at all with them.
It seems unlimited really is unlimited.
They are always e-mailing with service updates and news so I'm kept well informed. I use the service for business aswell as leisure and is great.
I know there are other providers offering the same (512 and free modem) Tesco to name but 1, but as I haven't tried them I can't comment.
This is just a big thumbs up to Demon as they have provided a flawless service so far!
Once you've had ADSL for a year then there are lots of cheaper providers but as somewhere to start - I would certainly recommend Demon.0 -
Hi,
I'm currently with virgin.net costing me 24.99 a month, with no contract on their 512 Kbps broadband offer. I've up and downloaded a huge amount over the last few months and finally got a call asking me about my uploading, they offered advice about possible trojans and politely inquired whether I was using p2p applications. It was my wife that answered so she they got the non technical answer of "i'm not sure"She told me it was a very polite call and they sounded more curious than threatening.
Anyways, i'm changing isps due to wanting a faster connection than virgin can offer at the moment, i've stuck with them so this long as I like a few other posters to this thread will pay a little extra for superb customer service, and virgin really does excel at that i've personally found. I might be a little jaded as I work as a guard on virgin trains :P (anyone want a free ride without hiding in the toilets let me know.. light.spirited.at.google.dot.com)
Anyways, I digress.. after doing a little research I cam across adsl4less and found out that they were offering unlimited 1 mbps at 24.99 and 2 at 34.99. The latter is more than I want to pay so i'll be going for 1mbps. Want I really wanted to share though was that they have an excellent service on their site whereby you can live chat with a site operator. I was curious as to whether it really was an unlimited service, i some companies advertise as so but i've read the stories, esp concerning tiscali that if you exceed a certain amount you then attract their wrath.
So I took the opportunity and posted the following;
Chat Information Please wait for a site operator to respond.
Chat Information You are now chatting with 'Jeff'
mark: hello Jeff
Jeff: Hello and welcome to ADSL4LESS, how may I help you?
mark: I am considering getting your 1mps at 2499
mark: can you tell me if it is truly unlimited?
Jeff: yes
Jeff: we do not implement any port blocking
mark: there are no limits at all, so i could for example download 30 gigs a month?
Jeff: yes.
mark: thats excellent, many thanks for your help jeff.
Jeff: Thank you for chatting and please tell your friends about https://www.ADSL4Less.com
Not a hugely technical reply, but short and to the point.
I was looking for a review of them at adlsguideorg.uk and found instead an ad proclaiming that their 512kbps and 1 and 2 mbps packages were all 1499 a month and had a 2 gig limit!!! Heres the link after clicking the ad http://payg.adsl4less.com/broadband-products.htm
So, uncapped prices and capped prices? Are they planning to introduce capping to everyone?? Back to the live chat link went I.
I changed my name in case I got Jeff again, didn't want him to think he had a stalker..

Thomas: Hello
Thomas: I'm confused..
Thomas: you have a site claiming that you have 1mbps at 2499 that is unlimited, but after looking at adslguide.com i see an ad that says you have 1 and 2 mbps for 1499
Jeff: goto https://www.ADSL4Less.com
Jeff: you will see the Unlimited pricing there
Thomas: but are you about to limit the main accounts?
Thomas: do you plan to bring limiting in?
Jeff: no
Jeff: No
Thomas: Ok, thank you
Jeff: we have capped accounts which are the 1Mb and 2Mb accounts @ £14.99
Jeff: even our 512k account at £14.99 is uncapped
Thomas: excellent, thanks for your replies.
Notice the capital *n* on the second no.. Quite adamant he seems lol
I still couldn't find any reviews at adslreview.org.uk though.. They didn't mention this company at all.
So, in conclusion of this freaking behemoth of a post does anyone already use adsl4free? What might they be like?
Thanks for reading..

I recommend the https://www.ukrtc.net BASIC 10 on 1 service for £17.99/month: 1MB speed with 10GB monthly limit + modem & connection. I've been using it for over a month now, and it's always up to speed. Great customer service also, unlike ntl who I was with & are quite the worst I've ever come across.

Pipex offers 1mb uncapped for £23.44 per month, and also includes webspace and newsgroups. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I am currently with Plusnet and pay £24.99 a month for unlimited 512k adsl. I feel I am being ripped off by them, and dont fully understand the changes they are to implement in april, can anyone simplify for me. I want to move to a cheaper package, but I am very happy with Plusnet's customer service and in over 16 months I have never failed to get onto the internet. Can you recommend another supplier, or do you recommend I move to another one of their packages like the one for £14.99. I am considering moving to Talk Talk Broadband, as i'm already on their talk1 service, if i go onto talk2 + broadband i will get adsl 512k plus unlimited evening and weekend calls to uk landlines and a further 10% off uk mobile rates plus the broadband for £19.99 a month, not sure if a good deal though.0

Talk Talk phone service is very good, their broadband service should be avoided if you are after a reliable service.
