Have you ever looked at Glucosamine supplements? They are excellent for arthritis and is something else we also gave to horses but I know it can be used in dogs and humans too. I can't remember off the top of my head which was the cheapest brand we found, although Newmarket Joint Supplement springs to mind, but I'll check it out for you and post back.

Also, not sure what diet you feed your dog but red meat is bad for arthritis as it's high in uric acid, so you would be better to stick to chicken and rice type diets.

Thanks Curry_Queen :) I'll do a bit of research and mention it to our vet next time we visit.
My dog is 15 and has a very limited and easily digested diet...her food probably costs twice as much as ours does!

I'm slowly using up all my household cleaners and then switching to white vinegar and bicarb. I can't believe how many I have! I'm hoping to get it down to: bleach, vinegar, bicarb, washing-up-liquid, laundry liquid.

What do I use though instead of toilet duck? I currently squirt it around and then use a toilet brush.

I've just cleaned my bathroom and for the first time really hate that 'clean' smell. It just smells of chemicals to me now. I can't wait to change over to vingear!

Dingdong, I think toilet duck is mostly bleach, so a cheap concentrated bleach would probably work well in your loo - that or vinegar.

Also, don't forget soda crystals - very cheap and versatile.

Another indispensable I find is a good old fashioned scrubbing brush. All this needs is 'elbow grease' behind it to get off most stains.

    Hi,

What is the ultimate collection of cleaning products and their uses from the cleaning guru's on this forum?

I have been using the vinegar, washing up liquid, bleach, for general cleaning and washing powder and vinegar for the washing machine, dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher still.

And if you have a really manky loo like I inherited, a bit of elbow grease and a pumice stone work wonders :D

My cleaning cupboard sounds similar to yours Diamondsky with a couple of exceptions.
I've let my dishwasher tablets and rinse aid run out so I could give washing powder and vinegar a try. Up to now though I'm not convinced it's a good idea because some things have had to be washed again. But I shall increase the amount of powder I use and try again before giving in and going back to dishwasher powder.
Also I have a diluted lemon juice shower spray, we use it after every shower and it works as well as the expensive commercial spray.
And another thing I've just started using is Napisan with cheap bio powder when I'm washing whites...it works a treat.
