Hi - after some time away from this I will aim for £250 this month. New Year, New incentive to get on top of things!0
-
Well Im not sure if I under or over honestly for 2009 but Im gonna be brave and say Im probably a little over. Had a NSD yesterday and today. The cupboards and freezer are so full I couldnt get any more in if I tried so altho Im guessing on an overspend I also guestimate I have approx £400 worth of food in the house!
So-brand new spending diary for tomorrow(an old book I will hunt out tonight).
We have got us all free diaries and calendars from our places of employment so no spending there. Ive also got a £50 clothes voucher to spend which I was given at work for Christmas and I still have it 3 weeks after being given it so I can spend that in the sales guiltfree in 2010. Meanwhile Im living off the stock I have apart from bread milk and eggs in general. Tonight I made clocolate pudding with some dry choc cake, some left over betty crocker choc filling, warmed it in the micro with a tiny bit of hot water. Topped it off with custard made with cornflour and vinilla and sugar/milk as I have no custard powder left. Well-vanilla custard I called it! Determined that if I can do things like this more often I will use up some old stock and save money for January.
Yesterday I made Jelly in 4 cups costing all of seven pence. I have a stock of curry sauce from Asda and Tesco which I paid 4p or 5p per jar/tin .I got the last lot online from Asda. Look out for these on the bottom shelf when you shop.At present I have about 20 jars but I generally use 3 jars per cook.
Setting myself an annual budget of £6000 again.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Evening all, spent £7.83 today out of grocery money,
Iceland:
3 bottles of milk £3.00
seafood sauce £1
only cost me 90p though as i have a few more Healthy Start vouchers to use before i commence full time work next week and i stop getting them
Then I went to Morrisons:
Spring roll pack £2.00
bananas £1
2 x leek potato gratin 9p each (down from 1.99)
pack of stuffed mushrooms 9p (down from £1.99)
garlic bread £1.00
king prawns £1.74
I think thats correct for morrisons
then i had to go to Mr A to see if any closing bargains-no chance fruit and veg empty. fresh stuff not of interest and not whoopsied enough BUT i did take £20 out of other budget to get a few new year tipples, so,
Asda:
3x wine £10
champagne £10 (down from £23.98) a once a year luxury
whoopsie fish 73p
parma ham £1.17 (down from £3.00) ive never had this and always fancied trying it, but didnt know if id like it so got it while on offer
and i think thats it!
Actual Grocery money spend £7.83 i believe.
So tonight just me and dh, (hopefully dd will sleep through fireworks if her teething isnt too bad anyway) to bring in New Year. We are having duck, which im just gonna add the whoopsied potato gratin thing and the stuffed mushroom too. Will bung the spring rolls and maybe the garlic bread in to. We dont eat until late so wil do that soo. Then its popping the cork on the champers at Big Ben!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!!
Can i please re-join?? I am hoping to only use a budget of £40 to do me until around 25th Jan. I have pretty full cupboards/freezer and only myself and DS (3) to feed. Payday is 4 weekly so this sometimes gets a little mixed up for me but I intend to start the year as I mean to go on! Should only need milk, bread, veg etc (and maybe the odd tuesday night woopsie) so fingers crossed!!Emma
Aug GC - £88.17/£130

Happy New Year everyone!
Please may i join this? I want to cut my spending this month to £200 for 5 of us plus pets. Have a good supply of nappies and toiletries so going to try to meal plan and use up what i have already. Usually spend including extras about £80 at least a wk so will be a challenge for me! Looking forward to reading your posts. Debbiegrocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000 -
Hi there, me again lol.
I find it hard to do monthly GC, due to DH's pay being in the middle of the month, but I'd like to join again. Can I, rather than set a budget, set myself the challenge of only buying what we need (incl whoopsies if ridiculously reduced and no more than 1 in stock already!), keep freezer a little less full, and make more HM things again ? Thanks and happy new year one and all.

Happy New Year to everyone..
Well, I am doing nights for the next four nights so I am hoping that I will be able to eat from work and the rest from my cupboards at home. So hopefully I won't need to do a grocery shop for ten days other than some milk and fresh fruit. I am so broke this month that I would love to come in at £60-80 though it might be a wee bit unrealistic.
Good luck everyone..One debt in 100 days £384/1264(£865 left)Pay all your debt off by xmas 2014 £276/18864NSD 4 and 4 in a row0
