Knit Your Square To Give Your Share - Part 3
Comments
-
Just received the following email from PamsPal - thought it was worth sharing:
If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you anytime,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment ,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
...Then You Are Probably The Family Dog!

Wow Maytaurus that is brilliant -- Just what we all need everything neat, tidy and ordered--- unlike my wool basket
Kathy -- Hope you feel better soon-- It is really horrible here in South Devon- Grey wet and grey again but lots of "hooking" to get on with!!
Purple Teddy Bear-- So lovely to see you back.
ISOM- Hope knitting group went well.
As we start a new week I am sending some gentle hugs as so much seems to be going on in peoples lives at the moment. Hope the horrible bullying has stopped.
Well I knitted hearts to applique on the lapacuddlyghans last night. I had a non crafty friend here last night so needed something little to do whilst having a glass of vino and chatting
Have good days everyone and hope the sun is shining where you areTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

Morning all from a bright sunny but very chilly Aberdeen. I had to scrape the car windows this morning before taking the young `uns to work.
Brrrrrrrr.
Thanks you all for your good wishes re DD`s forthcoming `nappy event`
Maytaurus – I was reading your post yesterday when DD came down stairs and asked what I was smiling at so I showed her,
woo-hoo! Can we be unofficial aunties ??
Her response was, `She must be as nutty as you Mum` Charming eh? ( I gave her a smack for you, cheeky monkey that she is) Maybe nuttiness goes hand in hand with knitting needles and crochet hooks ??
Chalky – hope the melty stuff is all cleared up now – have a party to use up all the food that defrosted.
Orkneystar – I haven`t done Lorna`s crib, (I did the one from Bonnie Babies) but I think it was designed so that you slip it over an ice cream tub to stiffen it – carte d`or style I think- so you wouldn`t need to sew it at the bottom.
Prfungi – love the jazzy coloured scarf, hope you`re feeling a bit better now. Black holes are soooo annoying aren`t they?
Mioliere – hope you are keeping warm and feeling a bit better too.
ISOM – good luck with the knitting group and enjoy the cakes.
Have to go and pick up wee lad from nursery - back later.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.
Sunny here but cold too.(Well I am anyway!:o)
Well I've had an awful weekend, picked up a stomach bug which was not very nice and had a migraine to top it off. Feel better today though, I've had two whole weeks of both sons going into school with no problems so I think they've finally settled now. Phew!:D
I've just spent the last hour catching up on all your news, your stories have made me laugh and cry. It's like therapy on here for me I always feel so much better after a visit.
OrkneyStar - re Lorna's crib. You just need to sew the top of the 150 stitch piece to the 100 stitch piece(lining) the lining sits into the tub and the seam where you've stitched sits on the edges of the tub, the 150 stitch piece is like a skirt around the tub. I did a crochet edging all around the bottom of mine. Shezmit uses carte dor ice cream tubs for the cribs, Have you got one as I got a spare one here I could send you. I found it easier using the tub as a guide when I knitted mine. Hope this helps, I'm not very good at explaining I end up confusing myself.
Purple Teddy Bear - nice to see you back.:D
ISOM - Good luck tonight, hope all goes well.:j
Have a good day all.x:jWooligans Totals 2010:
2 preemie hats, 2 preemie gowns, 1 bunting, 1 sleeping bag, 12 chalky squares0 -

.
I completely forgot about the tub part (d'oh).....I don't have a carte d'or tub just now but I am sure I could find a reason to buy some ice cream! I think it will be a wee while before all the bits are knitted, as am doing other knitting too, so I will have time to eat the ice cream.
I did no knitting last night, ended up playing games online as was too dozy to concentrate on my knitting, as DH pointed out!
Hope the rest of you are doing alright.
Off to have cars driven all over me then finish baking the tart for its choccie filling.

No update this week as packed time showing friend of my sister around Cardiff (exhausting but fun). Am determined to make it to the knitting group ISOM, have push bike (and even lights) so just need to get myself organised and look out a crochet needle as want some instruction from you on that!
Planning to have a go at a pair of socks for my sister for Christmas, plus need to start a new charity project now that I've handed in my blanket and posted the IS stuff.
Quite a good day so far - remembered to book a sweep, book cat in for booster and health check, call Dr.s and now off to take friend's dog for a little walk0
