    Morning all,
Oh Louis is very cute, although I am not a big cat fan (DH had ours before we married) I do have a liking for stripey and tortoiseshell cats :). He seems right at home there anyway! I donated a huge bag of squares to local Cats Protection a while back (leftovers from my blanket making times), to make kitty blankets, as there are a lot of strays/kittens etc around here. Our cat is a wild lady, even though her age is creeping on, and often we find bits of mice lying in the front garden (sorry if anyone reading this over breakfast!).
Anyway, back to knitting, did more scarf last night and its turning out lovely, not sure which one will go to sis and which one to mum! Have laid off on crib for now as need my ice cream tub, so might also do a couple more IS hats before sending off, or perhaps a couple of preemie things.....not sure! Or another boob, as they are good fun to do, now I have sorted out the bottom part lol! Who knows?!
Maytaurus, I love reading your posts, they always make me smile, thank you for the effort you put it with it all :).
Ok, better go for now, hope everyone is ok,

morning all, hope that you are all in good spirits, if not i have a good bottle of whiskey here if you would like some, that will definitely put you in good spirits!!!

chalkey - this is not our big move, yet, we are still in the process of selling our house. hopefully it will happen some time before christmas, so much work to do, so little time. thats also, partly, why i am doing the decluttering, saving myself some work later!

kathy - books, they are my first love. i have thousands too (although with the decluttering i am getting rid of any that i think i will not read again and they are going to the pet charity). i love murder mysteries, so kathy reichs, some wilbur smith, andrea camilleri, agatha raisin, donna leon, stuart macbride, harlan coben, lee child, tess gerritson to name but a few of my favourites. i also have 2 full height bookshelves with books that i have bought/been given as presents, that i still have to read, and then there is the stash that i have in france... every time i go there, i make sure that i take 6 books with me and that dear OH take the same number, that way if we ever forget, we will be covered.

may, with regards the dust, i think the grumpy look on my lovely SILs face when she sees dust is enough to banish it. i must be honest i have never seen a house like hers, it is pristine. the kids even do the washing up and drying/packing away every night before bed and then again after breakfast and before school. they are both teenagers and their bedrooms and wardrobes are perfect, even my nephews, and he is about 17! its not really natural, is it?

anyway, boxes (with marmite, weetabix and my favorite lidl breakfast cereal - which they dont do in france) are packed up with some of my lovely pots and pans (with which i can cook for more than 2 people at a time). added to that is some wood undercoat so i can paint the shutters and some other bits and bobs ... and the christmas presents so that we dont have to take them over later. how organised is that? now all i have to do is tidy the kitchen and the other 99 jobs on the list - including purchasing the anniversary present for my DOH for the day i return from france!

have a lovely time and i look forward to reading all your adventures on my return - i might even treat you to a few photos now that i have the instructions from may - THANKS MAY!!!!!

miserable weather here. Am helping at the church monthly lunch today and babysitting tonight! Hoping that pfungi gets her parcel today!!
dp well done on the declutter! As for the books...I love em but not been reading of late and am banned from buying books!! I read all sorts - love jeffery deaver (thriller/crime) and val mcdermet, also odd ones - "these is my words" one of my faves and reading a sequal - sarahs quilt - all about a woman in usa when the settlers moved into the praries - lots of stories about quiting, simple life etc and character to care about...some biog - lots of crafty books...my problem is fave authors dont write fast enough!! off to try and do a bit of scarf!

Good Morning all -- Ohhhhh its horrible here and we should be there !!!!! I felt so sorry for the Parish Sweeper DOH has just taken him a hot drink. Thought of you insomniacs before 5.00 this morning but tossed and turned as I could not be bothered to get up. I was "hooking" in my sleep- rippling and grannying!!!!! We MUST get a life!!

Pippa S --- I bet you wonderful little Grandson feels as if he has always been with you and your family.

DD1 phoned late last night and poor Buster Boy puppy has had a very bad tummy upset- Poor things him for tummy and her for clear up operations!!!

Well I am 2 rows away from finishing the lapacuddlyghans. Then I am going to embroider I heart with my name and the date for posterity. I think I should do a blanket for Buster for Christmas as well. I will use up all my scraps!

Thanks again for looking and joing the merry gang of followers on my blog. I have just learnt how to add a blog list so Kathy and ISOM are up there has anyone else got a blog as I would love to add you.

Thanks for info about books I have always been an avid reader since childhood and I also LOVE wreiting letters but have done neither all summer. Not quite sure why but I have never read Forever Amber so perhaps that would be a good 1 to kickstart off with

    I will be back later

    hi all,
Just back from knitting group - me and 5 others which was good for #1! Nice to chat, knit, drink tea and eat cake. Discovered scarf quite heavy when not knitting on sofa so did some hooking instead! Anyway - was nice and relaxed and I hope people enjoyed it...alas people having probs with the blog so will have to look at that...grr! Off to do more scarf...

Had a great time and I'm practicing my crochet - thanks for showing me!
Have been doing the triples you showed me and the doubles that ? from the shop explained as well
Also thanks for yummy cake - hope that the oldies enjoy the rest of it today as much as I did.
Really nice to get out and meet some different people - knitting can be quite solitary and it was good to see everyone's different projects and swap tips.
Looking forward to the next meeting!

    Morning all,

Hope I'm not too late to
    Update

    4 IS Hats
    1 Sleeping Bag
    1 Preemie Gown
    1 Preemie Hat

Thanks for all your good wishes I'm back to myself today despite the awful rain here today.:(
Me too, love my books although not really got a favourite author I mostly like thrillers and murder mysteries, use to read horror when much younger but have nightmares now. I also have knitting, crochet books and have read the odd biography. We could do with a library as all four of us have the bookworm bug.
Mioliere - Louis is georgeous no wonder you couldn't resist him, my cats a tabby but he's got a white tummy and feet. Hope you feel better soon. Take it easy.:D
Dpixie - Have a safe journey, hope the weather is better there.
ISOM- glad the group went well, good turn out for the first one too.
Chalky - Poor buster, hope he's better soon, how awful for him.

Well I've been busy making a blankie for DS1, It's coming along quite nicely and now I've got used to the pattern I'm going great guns, haven't told him yet as I want to do one for DS2 and want them both to have them at the same time to avoid aguments.

    Time for a cuppa,
    Have a good day all.x

No, ISOM. I wasn't there sadly but often people say they want to be shown crochet so I wondered if it had come up. I'm guessing the US/UK terminology is to blame for your confusion. I did a crochet flower the other day in US terminology translating it in my head as I went. It gave me a big concentration crinkle across my forehead and made my head hurt :rotfl:.

I learned crochet off utube, attick24 and general internet sites...its Angela from the shop Seakay and great that you enjoyed it I agree the knitting quite solitary so noce to get togeather. I loved the funky scarf!! Must get proper instructions!!
The lunch group enjoyed the cakes...choc was a bit dry but lemon the bestest!! Elijah (aged 3!) clearly enjoyed the choc from the bits round his mouth!! Going to have a snooze (seems tohave become a necessiy but have been going to bed later so body clock all changed!) before one of "my kids"...
Shame we dont live closer or could have a book group!! I love reading and now that house more sorted may be able to do a bit more...seem to need sleep more than normal at the mo - possibly because of the continuing nightmares...has anyone has exp of this in the past and any tips on ridding myself of them?
