I may be helpful but I'm not a mind reader.
sorryIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Ok then...three weeks later:
Radishes. Bit disappointed, as I thought they'd be ready by now, but still very small:
Chillis: Very disappointed - thought they'd been doing much better:
Tomatoes. No red ones yet, but a few green ones and plenty of flowers:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Sundews and butterworts. Doing quite nicely:
Venus fly trap. Lovely:
Runner beans (still very slow), swede (doing well), beetroot (only 3 have grown), weeds (thriving):If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Parsnips (top left), carrots (top right), spring onions (bottom left) & cauliflower (bottom right) all doing ok:
Beetroot (left, left side) and turnips. The turnips have gone mad.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
All in all, not too bad. Wish the runner beans were doing better.
Whilst I was on holiday, I discovered kumatos - a brown tomato with the most wonderful flavour. In the absence of any available seed, I brought a couple home in the hope that I could save the seed for next year.
So...what's the best way of preserving the seed?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Its called "seedsaving". Try:

errrr....<cough> theres probably "Rules" about that sorta thing - ie you may not have been officially "allowed" to bring those tomatoes home with you...I know...I know....and I would have ignored them myself (ahem) if so....
...but it may not be the best idea to tell everyone in T'Real World you did that until you've checked out whether these tomatoes are on a "Verboten List"...0 -

Mrs Macawber is your woman for tomato seed saving.
I don't know about tomato but for chilli and pepper seeds I just scraped them out, left them on kitchen paper to dry and put in an envelope in my garage.0
