The 'full' Be speed, 24mb package is £17.50, not £20.

    *edit*

I see they offer 12 month and 'no contract option' for £20 now. I think I would go for the cheaper 12 month option.

Yet again you have gone "under cover" into a UW distributor support site and selected another link and used it to demonstrate "deceit"...... this form that you have gleefully found was added to the site in May 2005.

You seem a little rattled that the uws business secrets are available for us all to see on the net. If uw wants to keep its methods secret, then they should come to an arangement not to show up on Google, and stop flooding youtube with their training videos! There is no need for any subterfuge to see the webpages!

If you are saying that uw reps aren't trained to suggest your customers get the cheapest gas and electricity, then you are naive.

If the example given is out of date then they should take it off the net! But as the ASA doesn't interfere with any false claims made on the net, no doubt all the misleading uw webpages/videos etc will remain.

Here is another example of deceitful selling:

    http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/signing-customers.html

If you can be bothered to watch, note that gary the great explains away why uw don't feature highly on switching websites. He explains that is because uw don't pay the likes of uswitch for referrals. The deceit is glaring - uw doesn't feature "highly" because of its expense, which we all know. But your prospects don't expect to be lied to by the man from uw their friend has recommended to them, and accept whatever you tell them. Note he then goes on to tell them that "our company is the cheapest provider for gas and electricity, so its nice to have this sort of credibility". The gullibles nod enthusiastically!

    EON Gas & Electricity £ 1,003 pa
    UW Gas & Electricity £ 1,120 pa
    Difference - Costing £ 117

    BT 24mb Broadband - not available ?

Cheapest nearest alternative Be Unlimited ?

    Be Unlimited (24mb) £17.50 a month

That is exactly the tactic employed to make the challenge a nonsense!

Be it the Prospero magazine or the(unachievable) up to 24mB broadband you use to restrict any competition.

The average speed achievable in UK is 3.6mb so even up to 8mB is academic.

Even if you have 24mB, as I can get on cable in the USA, it makes very little difference to the download speeds on many many sites.
Little point in having a hose capable of handling 1000 gallons an hour if the pump it is connected to can only deliver 100 gallons an hour.

The EON/BT package is far superior and cheaper than the UW equivalent!

If you insist on continuing this random "quoting" of what you like to call UW "lies and deceit", then it is going to become more and more difficult to maintain the curtesy on this forum that most of us try to achieve.

You clearly don't read all the personal abuse that comes from the uw reps who post here!

When talking about forum courtesy, be careful!

It was you who succeeded in getting the uw reps referral thread closed down (in your first attempt to take advantage of MSE and its members).

This was achieved by attempting to run a so called charity collection. You posted that you worked with a charity, and anyone signing up to uw would mean a donation of up to £50 to the charity. Anyone becoming a rep for uw would also mean a £50 donation to the charity. An "air of respectability" was added to the post by you asking for more help on raising funds for the charity.

MSE members were told they would "save and also help my local charity". Nowhere was any mention of your cut in all this.

You broke forum rules with the post, this was pointed out by a mod, but you refused to amend the post, or supply the info requested by the mod.

    But you protested:
My primary goal in posting to this thread is to raise funds for the charity whilst I work with them on longer-term income and to see if anybody has any other suggestions.

The mod got fed up with this abuse of the board and locked down the uw thread for ever.

    Hi Quentin

More mis-information, why should I be surprised.

The thread was actually closed down because the MSE rules had changed in October 2005 and I resurrected the thread in 2006 which highlighted the fact the thread was no longer valid.

As to your intimation that there was something in it for me, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised that you have a copy of the agreement between myself and the charity concerned. (although I wasn't aware it had been published on the internet). What gives you the right to judge everybody by your own set of rules? If I was a sensitive person I would be very upset by that inference, but I will let it pass in the interests of your ignorance of my personal circumstances.

Anything else you would like to bring up whilst you are "Carmine(ing) my posting history?

    Best regards

    Mike

    Hi Quentin

Again, you choose to ignore the comment, although you asked for factual challenge, typical.
To provide a factual response to this, which, quite honestly, you don't deserve, this form that you have gleefully found was added to the site in May 2005. At the time the tutorial was produced, Utility Warehouse probably did provide the cheapest Gas and Electricity (I would be more assertive and state that they did provide the cheapest, but I am trying to be less provocative than some).

You provided a link to a presentation that was factually correct at the time it was published and then use it to "prove" how deceitful UW reps are - your credibility, which I used to admire, is now nose-diving for me. This is genuinely sad for me as you used to post very insightful information.

    Best regards

You choose to ignore the obvious riposte - if the garden party tutorial for gathering customers details using deceit is out of date, why don't uw take it off the net?

You also choose to ignore the deceit shown in the great gary's video I used, and the specific deceits he uses in it???

    http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/signing-customers.html

As you don't like UW being exposed this way, I'll go and find some more - it won't be too hard, and does serve to let others be aware of the type of depths uw reps are encouraged to stoop to.

That's rich coming from the person who still hasn't apologised for making false accusations of me 'cynically' and 'intentionally' posting misleading informaion.

Did you read your colleagues personally abusive posts? ("Vinny" is one to start with)

Care to comment on the uw training videos showing how you are encouraged to con your friends into giving up their spare time to help you out over a problem you have at work, and need to do some practice, when in fact you are wanting to sign them up to multiple utilities?

Yet again, no acceptance of your misinformation. The information provided at the time was NOT deceit.

Also, this is NOT UW information, it was provided by two of the nicest people I have ever met who put their heart and soul (and funding) into helping people achieve their personal goals. It is very useful to have history on a website that enables individual to see how things have changed over time and to stimulate them. Just because you misrepresent it, doesn't make it less useful to others.

    Whatever floats your boat.
