I will be watching my next bill and possibly switching to another elec. provider. Again it just does not make sense how much money these companies make and the government does nothing to "cap" their profit margins. We are living in a country which has been seeing the gap between rich and poor to widen. This is very dangerous and alarming.0

Blame the Regulator, Ofgem. There is no meaningful competition between the big 6.0 -
I did predict the arrival of these official energy company suits would all end in tears. I think the problem is they are used to dealing with the generally uninformed public most of the working week, the reason confusion marketing was implemented, I suspect. Blind 'em with science and they'll back down. It must have come as a real shock when the reps started their tasks on here - MY GOD, THESE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! HELP!! Maybe 'Brian' and 'Helena' are ficticious names and the task each day of attempting to justify Eon's actions on here is passed to the office member who has upset management the most. 'OH NO, NOT MSE, PLEASE'...Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Im going to give it a few weeks to let all the new 'price reductions' take effect, then leave Eon. As an Eon customer for many years Im very disappointed by their deceptive skewed price reductions. What do they take us for? Obviously complete muppets.
Im paying well over a grand a year to be treated with utter contempt. As to 'caps', forget capping their profit, although Eon certainly know how to 'cap' their price reduction. How? By giving me a generous 18% cut on my primary units, capped at first 900 kWhs. Then a frankly pathetic 1% cut on any secondary units I use. If they had applied the much vaunted 9% cut across both I would be better off, but thats to clear and simple for folk to understand. Far better to use a little smoke, a mirror here and there to create a little confusion amongst the punters.
Vote with your feet and leave..........0 -

But where will you go? They are all as bad as each other. They are in collusion and the prices aren't much different. All tariffs are intended to deceive. It just needs one of em to break ranks and we'd all be off and switch to them. Now there's an idea0 -
Morning guys
Sorry if I caused confusion yesterday. When I posted certain areas are beyond my remit I did not mean I cannot talk about them. Rather, I do not have the answers you are looking for.
May I clarify a few points?
This forum is one of several avenues we use to support our customers. As such, customer questions requiring answers we do not have are fed back to more suitably placed people in the same way as if the customer phoned, emailed or wrote in. This is ongoing and can take time as the relevant people are not always immediately available.
This has happened with all the recent postings about price reductions, changes in discount, showing regional discounts on our website and other related issues.
Responses will be posted when we have them.
As advised previously, Brian, Helena and I all work in Customer Services. We are real people experienced in dealing with customer queries.
Sorry carmine but don't own a suit. As for upsetting the management, who knows?
Jimexbox, I wish I was teenager again but as I have three grand kids this is beyond even my imagination.Although, if the Jeremy Kyle Show is anything to go by, maybe not.
Malc“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

I just want an energy supplier who are transparent in their charges, when they talk about a 9% price cut, dont use a mythical 'average' family from a select region, on a select tarrif. It has to be a 9% cut for everyone!!
This has blown up right in Eon's face.0 -
This thread has prompted me to join in the discussion as I am totally annoyed about the way these so called energy suppliers can get away with the lack of transparent pricing for their customers with total disinterest from the regulators/government. Its starting to look like they can do what they want with little enforcement.
I am also in the situation of losing the v5 tariff, I phoned EON to ask what my options were and what discounts were available only to be told that the new discount would not be as good and my estimated bill would increase. The so called 9% discount that EON got so much press coverage about is actually a con! Some better in depth analysis of these PR releases might uncover the invisible "regional discount" game that energy companies play.
I would like to see a company come out and provide a totally tranparent energy plan with no hidden agenda, something similar to Tesco with mobile phones, 5p/min and that is all you need to know. It would be a breath of fresh air to use consumers.0 -

Any man old enough to have grandchildren who does not own a suit is a man who can not be trusted. Either 'Malc' is a funny name for a woman or...0 -

Welcome to the forums and a greater understanding of how Eon give with one hand, while taking away with the other. They rely on the great British tradition of apathy, something I used to suffer from before their massive rises, not anymore.
I decided to 'watch and learn', unfortunately the more I watched the more disgusted Ive become. I used to think mobile phone companies used 'confusing marketing' until Ive learnt how our energy suppliers operate. They use tactics that would embarrass most businesses, hey but when you operate in a cartel, shame has no place at the table.0
