Hi guys just wanted to let you know how the sorbet went... fantastic I've nearly eaten it all haha.
Mix one cup of water to 2/3's sugar in a pan till all the
sugar has dissolved transfer to fridge and allow to cool completely.
So I made fruit puree using 6 kumquats and a small punnet of worst for wear raspberries (hence me trying to make sorbet) but chopping the kumquats finely and adding everything to a pan with 3tbl spoons of water the juice of 1 lime and the flesh of one orange.
then i wizzzzzed it up to make a thin puree then i put it back on the heat and grated the rind of the lime i'd used in. let it boil then put in fridge to cool.
once both have cooled mix them together in a METAL bowl.
put it in the freezer and mix often... you will know when its done.
put in airtight container and return to [STRIKE]fridge[/STRIKE]freezer... if there is any left ha.
you can make this with the puree of any fruits and also add things like chocolate nuts fruit pieces etc....I'm an MSE SLACKER!!!! Slap my bum.
Been a long time but i'm back.0 -

Most stuff is quite pricey (isn't all ready made vegan stuff) but I might buy a few things, I reckon if I'm making most things cheaply at home then I can afford to splurge a little on some tasty vegan products every now and again. Chestnut pie sounds lush! Tandoori burgers are also appealing.
Twice i've had vouchers codes for £5 off first order and never ordered. Might be worth contacting them to see if there is any discounts available for first orders.

Poundland have started selling a range of simple products. Our store had a end of aisle dedicated to simple. Deodorant was one of the products, didn't take much notice what was there, as it was a flying visit looking for something else. So poundland seem to be a good place to shop for toiletries with them selling original source shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well.

Don't know if it has happended to any of you vegans, but i don't need deodorant since becoming vegan. Once when i met someone on a course and when i told them i was vegan, they asked if i used deodorant, as they worked with a vegan that didn't need it! So don't know if its a vegan thing, but its not just me. My hubby only uses it when he plays sport, because thats when he sweats a lot, but doesn't use it otherwise. I do shower daily, but only change my clothes after several days, apart from underwear and I don't get smelly, so might be worth a try on non work days to see if you need it or not! A money saving by product of being vegan!

As far as quickie meals go for when you can't be bothered or have long work days, i think the key is to have some staples in that can be just warmed or steamed. Even if you normally make pasta sauce from scratch, having a few jars in can be a great for these days with little time. Also of course batch cooking when you have time, so you can just pop your own homemade meal in the microwave or oven when you get in. Even houmous sandwiches can be frozen in bulk to save time, but you would need to add salad etc on the day.
Using frozen veg, frozen meat subs, canned beans, canned soup, couscous, pasta and pasta sauce these are our quickie meals.
Soup and roll
Beans on toast
Steamed vegetables with soup
Mediterranean vegetables with pasta sauce
Pasta, steamed vegetables and pasta sauce
Couscous, beans and steamed vegetables
Oven chips and fishless fish fingers and baked beans
Potatoes waffles, sainsburys dunkers and baked beans
Quick puddings we have if there is no homemade cakes fresh or frozen are microwave treacle sponge pudding, fresh, frozen or canned fruit, tapioca cooked in microwave and provamel custard with banana.
Hope this helps

Interesting!! I found at first I smelt much worse, but put it down to hormones as I had just had DD, however maybe it was toxins. I do still need deo as I regularly try and give it a miss, but I find pitrok good as long as you wash daily. But prob just me! Maybe it takes a while to kick in!
On a similar note, I find that my DD (now 8.5 months) sick and poo has a less offensive odour, I thought it was just that she was mine so I couldn't smell it, but people have commented on it (yes we're sad and talk about our babies bodily functions lot's!)
