Hi all,
HC- you're making me jealous with your Costco ad, don't have 1 near me. : (
Shykins- btw, your Floopsies were v nice, though they weighed a tonne! V. filling tho
Menu for yesterday;
B- Flax porridge (well yummy)
L- 3 ham rolls filled with cream cheese and veg pate. 2 chicken skewers
D- roast chicken, mashed turnip, peas, celeriac and squash with gravy.
other- 2 glasses red wine, carrot sticks, 3 mini veg pakoras
Does anybody know where I can get gravy with no potato starch in it? It's everywhere! (at least the granules)
Well, boyfriend's birthday today and he wants to go to Indian tonight. And my Diet Delusion has arrived but think it will take me some time to get thru it!
Have a good day y'all! :j0 -
I'd be interested too, if anyone can come up with a low-carb gravy. At the moment I use the meat juices (including the delicious scrapings off the bottom of the roasting dish) with a drop of Worcester sauce, a small splash of red wine and a teeny blob of cream. Which is probably nicer, come to think of it! But unless you have a huge joint, there's not that much liquid to work with.0

Morning lovelies :hello:
Just a quickie sazzy coz i gotta go get me hair done soon:rolleyes: really cant face it but it needs doing.
Funny i was wrestling with the gravy issue yesterday. was stood for ages in sainsburys looking at all the various tubs of granules... i didnt think they were all that high tbh, in the grand scheme of things, but i guess it all adds up. Trouble is the granules need a starchy element in order to thicken. In the end i bought a pack of regular meat stock cubes, which were 0.2gms I think when made up with water. Had some last night with my beef, obviously it makes very thin gravy but all i really need it for is to moisten the meat a little, which it did. Not an ideal solution though i know... I just used a small amount so it wasn't swimming everywhere lol. Maybe your idea of adding a little cream to it is the way to go, HC x
Pilly - happy birthday to your b/f! :j Hope you enjoy the Indian tonight... and reading Diet Delusion - as I've said before it takes some getting through but it's well worth it imo.
I'm like daisy at the mo - losing and gaining the same pound over and over:rolleyes:
Was planning to have sausages for breakfast, but don't think I'm gonna have time, but they won't go to waste;0:D
Have a good day sweethearts
Much love,

Thanks, Tink, but - like Pilla - I was talking about an instant gravy.
ETA: My post no longer makes sense now that Tink has deleted her post! (Still, I rarely make sense, so no problem.)0 -
I just use Bisto.
For all I have of it, I think it's not worth giving to much thought to tbh, although I do tend to make a rough guess how much carbs I've eaten with it and add them on to my days total. I'm still losing so it mustn't be too much of an issue for me.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Hi
The best gravy mix I have found is Schwartz Classic Roast Chicken gravy, it has 6.1g of carbs per packet which isnt too bad as I get about 4 servings out of it.

have to say i usually use granules as i use so little of it but if u are doing a joint u could use a little almond flour to thicken the juices,,, keep forgetting i have xanthum so thanks for reminding me daisy lol
glad they were nice pilly i havent tried them myself yet... gonna make some more sesame crackers (got a seed mix cheap in H&B so not strictly sesame)
oooh that pork smells nice!!!!
