thanks for all your welcomes everybody, and all of your good luck wishes!! It'smy first house so quite exciting.
I think I'm going to put a wanted up on Freecycle for any Knitting Needles and wool to give me something to start with. Also, my nan is going to teach me how to knit - is it really hard? I'm fairly good at sewing if anybody needs me to do anything. Especially Cross Stitch!! Do hospices take cross stitched stuff, ie pictures, embroidered towels, that kinda thing??0 -
Hi Kathy
Can you update me with 1 BUNTING and 1 BODYWARMER please.
Yes thank you, I have recovered from my "base over apex" mishap
I do have to be a bit careful how I sit down thoughthose little Robins have a lot to answer for:rotfl::rotfl:
I have been outside (very carefully) and put their cheese down for them, they just love it

maytaurus - I agree, the B&M wool is very good quality and at 79p its a bargain. I bought a few balls of the white for the preemies cardis and buntings, and was really pleased how it knitted up.
I wish B&M was nearer to us though as its a 40min drive,we saw it when we visited MIL in hospital and I went on about it so much OH stopped and I dashed in for a quick look round.
I love the bolero pattern you have done for your Mum, she will love it.
I have saved it to word and will print it off now.

the light blue is a gorgeous shade isn't it, I love the pink and yellow as well as the white, which is a really bright shade if you know what I mean,I find some of the whites are quite dull.
It's been snowing again here
Just have to do more knitting :rotfl:

I would love to help.
I am in the process of knitting bits to make a bed blanket for me, having just completed 2 for my daughters.
I can only do plain knitting and a bit of plain crochet, usually double crochet if that's any help. I would of course need some guidance of where to send them to.
I have loads of wool available if anyone is interested, in blue its an acrylic/wool mix and I have about 9 balls spare.
I always have some knitting/crochet on the go, although I mainly do scarves or something for a home blanket.0 -

I have just posted my latest knits over on our Wooligan site, and Kathy you will see what I meant when I said my dinosaur looked more like a fish with legs But I have just realised it is probably the colours I used, thats why it reminds me of Nemo :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl:
maytaurus - ooo lucky you, if I can persuade OH to drive over that way again I will stock up.You're right the white really is a bright white. I used the blue and the white for cardigans and they came out really good.

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for most of the day; several problems sprung up all at once, as they do!
Welcome to Beaglebabe - Pippa has directed you to the right place - the first page on this thread - for all the info you'll need. Thanks for joining us!
Maytaurus - thanks for all those links and that lovely picture!
Sexy Em - if you go to the very first post on this thread, Maytaurus has posted some links to knitting tutorials as well as her own excellent learning-to-knit instructions. If you have any problems, please feel free to ask on here! There's also a link there to Operation Elderly Charity Stitchers (OECS); they take squares of all kinds, including cross-stitched ones, so have a look at their site, plus, there's look here www.lovinghands.org.uk - Loving Hands takes and distributes all sorts of items. They have various challenges on the go; one of the current ones is sewing bags to catch baby puffins that have fallen from their nest! I'm sure your sewing talents will be put to very good use, one way or the other, while you're learning to knit!
Well, it's been a long long day here; I'm going to have a bath and try and catch up with knitting and sewing up.
Have a lovely evening, everyone. I'm just going to look at Pippa's latest photos!
