Sorry, Craftlady, I've just edited my last update to correct your totals. Thanks for letting me know. Your lambs are gorgeous. Which pattern did you use?
Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe.

Hi Everyone, especially our newbies!
Have been missing in action for a few days doing "stuff" - the drudgy boring stuff that we all have to do and not much knitting or visiting my "home" thread here. In between seemingly endless st st for DH jumper, I have managed 1 bunting. I can't believe this bloomin jumper is taking so long - I'm sure most of you could have done it in a fraction of the time. I'm getting better at efficiently ripping back though :rotfl:
Hope everyone is well and not getting too fed up with the snow.0 -
Good morning everyone. I hope you are all coping with the weather. Having watched the news last night and seen all the problems people are having I can hardly believe how lucky we've been. We had some sleet yesterday, followed by snow that didn't lay because the ground was so wet; it seems as if we are the only part of the UK without it. I hope the snow goes soon before we completely run out of salt and grit.
Mrs Moneypenny - I hope you found your bodkin; mine keeps disappearing down the side of the sofa so I thikk I'm going to buy a couple more in case one day I just can't get it out! It's not the sort of thing you can do without, is it?
Well, I've had a strange but busy week and not had a chance to get much done but, Shez, I have almost finished sewing up your teds - the last one just needs a face and then I can get them in the post on Monday, along with the buntings I should have sent back with the chicks.

PLEASE NOTE: Thanks to everyone for such a good response to Chalky's appeal for the orphanage in Spain. Her SIL has arrived with all our items, and they have been delivered to the orphanage. Chalky has posted some great photos on page 27 of this thread. I think we will have made a big difference to a baby who arrived there with nothing; doesn't it make you feel good?!
LATEST UPDATE: Don't forget to let me know if I get these figures wrong - as some of you know, it's not difficult for me to make a complete hash of it!

Hallo Kathy and all, I joined the Wooligans Yahoo group and have finally made it over here - not very techno-competent and never posted on forums before so I hope I'm doing this right! I've spent a lovely wee while browsing back through this year's posts so far (blimey, there's a lot - could get very enjoyably lost for hours!) - what a fantastic lot you are, this group really shines a light in some sad situations and helps me remember how much kindness there is in the world despite what we hear endlessly on the news. Anyway, I'm very proud to join you though busy family (5 month baby, yum yum yum, 2 lovely big brothers who we home educate, and large muddy but still lovely farmer husband) will probably mean my contributions aren't huge. Still, it all helps. I've knitted a child's jumper to Oxfam's old pattern which i'll send to Algerian Action, and I'm going to gather the square(ish)s my sons made while learning to knit and see if I can cobble together a blanket.
Thank you so much for being here and sharing,
GinnyGinny

Morning all - reading all that you have been up to makes me feel rather lazy! Kathy can you update me with 4 more squares and 2 more IS hats please?
The weather is crisp and cold, but quite bright - a lovely day to sit in front of a fire and knit ... if only I get the chance - only about 10 jobs to do and then I will.
Have a lovely day all and stay safe and warm.

ps - Kathy thanks for the links to all of the blanket patterns - i am now spoilt for choice.1 oxfam jumper, 19 hexagon jumpers and 1 beanie!0 -
Morning all,
Craftlady, your lambs are brilliant, ideal for easter, they would also make great trauma toys, what pattern did you use?
Redhead mum, welcome, the forums are VERY addictive & if your not careful can get in the way of knitting (I know, I am that woman). lol :rotfl:
Keep warm everyone 'Money and good health is coming easily to Flypeople'0 -
1 shawl and 1 adults hat for LH to update please
shaz xenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Hi all and thanks for the updates, which will be added tomorrow morning.
Redheadmum - welcome to you. I am the mother of a redhead, too! Thank you so much for your kind words about what we do. It's great to be able to help others while doing something we all enjoy. We have a fantastic bunch of people on here and the thread would not have been possible with their enthusiasm and generosity; for that, I shall always be grateful and overawed!
Don't worry about being a 'forum newbie'; it is a bit daunting at first but please ask if there's anything you're not sure of, either with this thread itself, or finding your way around the forum. We are always happy to help and love having new members.
All the info you need is in the very first post on this thread. You sound as if you have a very busy life! I've always said that no-one is expected to put the knitting first. Everyone's life is busy these days and some have more time than others. Every single thing that is made is welcome and valuable to someone in need so please don't think you have to knit loads and loads. Just fit it in with your own life; just one little hat will help one very precious baby.
I hope you enjoy it here and I just know you'll be made welcome by all the others, too.
SGT - I found what I think is the right lamb pattern on Loving Hands - in the 'Pattern Central' section - I think it was called 'Fuzzy Mitten's Fuzzy Lamb'. Craftlady's are beautiful - I only hope the ones I make will be as good! My DIL2 - the one who will give me my third grandchild in August! - loves sheep so she will be getting one for Easter this year.
Anyway, off to do some work - I have to meet a 'first thing Monday morning' deadline so I want to get that all done this morning and, hopefully, devote the rest of the weekend to knitting. I just wish my DH didn't want feeding, watering, a clean house to live in, and someone to acknowledge his presence every so often!
