Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread MK3

• Something more worth while now hopefully. :)

Why the people who are on the first page list are, as seemingly to some I'm forcing everyone to use them. Also a heads up to what is required.

Freightsearch.

Current cheapest. Good website/quick booking. Telephone support. Late cut-off- 1.30pm, no one else has it this late because I presume none wants the extra admin this will bring, kudos to freightsearch for doing something different.

Express Packages Deliveries
No one has ever had a bad word to say about them. Never spammed/interfered, even when this was a free for all. Long before ArmitageShanks, and before I knew anything about this, they were the first courier agent we used. Couldn't fault them.

Parcel Machine
Their domestic prices may not be spectacular, but their European DPD rates are- £15 for 30kg to Germany is excellent, and that warrants their inclusion.

payperparcel

Consistently good value. Good highlands rate. Never spammed, even when they weren't listed

SaleTrack
Currently the best value for anyone sending over 50 a month, with rates starting at £5.75+vat. This is who we have used since ppw

Shipping Manager
They offer paypal

transglobalexpress

Quite probably the cheapest for most Europe and Int locations.

Worldwide Parcel Services
Very good rates for non-EU

Sending Worldwide
Recently when we sent a parcel to Cyrpus no one could get within £15 of them

Wrington
Offer something different and can get a lot of people out of a whole who go over the 2kg Airmail limit.

Interparcel
Competitive across the board. It's pretty much assured any quote from them will be right on the money- more so recently with everyones rates having gone up.

Who aren't
p4d- Don't really offer anything price wise. Would of liked to put their TNT service on, but it's not even close to interparcel's TITAN

parcel2go- Simple fact they don't offer anything for the price conscious consumer. £7.89 on DHL48, that's almost £1 more than interparcel. Elsewhere £40-70 to Eastern Europe for a sub 10kg parcel- ridiculous. Slow booking, they've spammed here when ppw went (user "Welcome"), the fact they make so much money which they proudly announce on their website tells a story, wacky live chat, early cut-off, 100 emails per booking, 100 emails per week 'come back to p2go and we'll give you 5p' kind of thing. Essentially, they have big buying power and use it to offer no value, interparcel are have big buying power and offer good/very good value. Just a note their 50% discounts will always get a mention here.

Who where
ppw- Came along offering DHL at £4.50 (that was only last April- how times have changed). For the duration of the time they traded they were always the cheapest, and by in large offered good service. DHL putting them in the first phase of increases (allegedly due to pressure from certain people, *coughs*p2go) which added £3 on to their price, this was the overwhelming reason, but poor management and admin I don't think helped at all. Most people did seem to get their money back, bar us. :(

dpd- Tumultuous. I took them off the list after persistent spamming, storytelling, poor service and unreliable service. Eventually they cottoned on to fact they had to up their game and eventually they did. They also offered exceptional international rates; a 25kg to parcel to the States for £25, with p2go it would probably be £2500. This was available for 3 months, I can't really see an argument why it shouldn't of been documented for the simple fact it offered incredible savings. Now gone and some poor sods have been left out of pocket it seems, not to mention MS vOn who has small claims preceding going over an insurance issue.

Few points:
1. If anyone’s knows of anyone that deserves a mention for offering good value let us know, particularly to Europe/World. (some companies need not apply)
2. What merits a company being listed; price obviously, the feeling of longevity, the provision of good service and the non interference here.
3. I do my best to have a comprehensive list of services which offer the best value across the board, I have also tried to make it simpler to view. Quite why I spend some much time doing it I don't know, and yes occasionally I get things wrong. But please remember I don't force anyone to use anyone.

Also I think we need another one for the U.K section to replace DPD.
So has anyone got any recommendations; good prices good service, something different? For this as a one off I'm happy to allow it to come from the horse’s mouth (so Jan 09 registrants are ok etc.)- 1 post only. Currently parcelbroker at £7.99+vat look like favourites.

Hi can istill usee
Parcel Machine
Excellent rates with DPD
or is DPD finishe now :(
They are fine, have no connection with Direct Parcel Distribution which have gone. DPD (geopost) are huge German based company.
A quick question.
We send several parcels through DHL a week - the boxes are mainly between 70cm - 100cm in length and 50cm high and 50cm deep and over 15kg.
Most of the cheap re-sellers' prices jump significantly as soon as the box size is over 70cm long.
The latest re-seller we used had a single price for all sizes up to their maximum, unfortunately they have gone.
Are there any more that have a flat rate?
Or can we ignore the volumetric / size restrictions below 120cm x 60cm x 60cm for DHL or 100cm x 50cm x 50cm for PF?

With the volume being over 30kg that counts DHL out I'm afraid, and with it any chance of sending below £10. I think you'd be best suited with TNT or City Link- interparcel offer TNT but for those dimensions it would be quite expesive. Try emailing them or contact freightsearch who should be albe to set you up with TNT or City sub account type system.
• Just a very quick note. Companies and representatives from those companies need permission from the forum management before posting under their company name. Also, if someone is really taking the p***, you can report their profile to abuse to have a look at.
• Not too sure what you mean ArmitageShanks.
All our boxes are under 30kg and less than 120cmx 60 x 60.
I understand how to calculate the volumetric weight, but I assume that courier do not use this measurement. I though that as long as the box is less than 30kg and less than the maximum dimensions it was OK
We have used DHL and ParcelForce without any queries.
• on advice from a fellow mse user i had a parcel booked in today with parcelbroker. are they normally reliable as not collected, i know your all going to shout they can collect till 6 o clock , but i had 10 parcels booked with another agent and 10 with another basically trying all avenues, dhl have collected but have no record of the single parcel broker parcel, are they to be trusted or is this a reg occurance or a one off, i send about 25-50 a week , just want someone reliable and always reliable not here today gone tommorrow
• all sorted with parcel broker and very helpful with email etc , apparently the fault was between dhl and the driver not having details, but all sorted now

The DHL website states that volume must not exceed 0.18 cubic meters & max length allowed is 120cm. So that would mean your maximum dimensions of 100cm, 50cm, 50cm are not allowed but dimensions of 70cm, 50cm, 50cm are OK.

DPD allows a volume of 0.5 meters & max length allowed is 200cm so dimensions of 120cm, 60cm, 60cm are fine.

Both Parcelcheap & Shippingmanager allow dimensions of 120cm, 60cm, 60cm for DHL & DPD. Maybe they have negotiated a greater size allowance with DHL or maybe they’re not aware of the size restrictions.

To be on the safe side use DPD & you will have no problems, cheapest is parcelcheap at £9.50.

Despite what ArmitageShanks may think i'm not a courier agent & have no ulterior motive other than to help & make others aware. I only give advice based on my own experience. ArmitageShanks as you seem to have good communication with the main companies maybe you can help resolve my loss claim with Freightsearch. Please don’t suggest that I have made it up as that’s offensive.
• My shipment booked with them this morning has just been collected.

• Hi
I saw a company called Direct Parcel Distribution on this website in december and duly booked a parcel to be sent to the Philippines and paid by paypal (£40.99). Fedex picked up and delivered the parcel. I was shocked to get a bill from Fedex for £218.92. I've queried it with them as the account number for Direct Parcel Dist was put on the waybill as per instructions. Fedex say 'Please be advised that we were unable to bill the account number as per the instructions on the airway bill'. They also say that as the sender we are responsible for payment. To cap it all I weighed the parcel myself at 9.8kg and I was within the required dimensions and have been billed for 15kg.
Anyone had similar problems? Have used other firms before without this problem.
Thanks
Janet
• anyone knows what has happened to DirectParcelDistribution?
I quite miss their Fedex worldwide service —— excellent rate isn't it?
Are they coming back??
Cheers.
