Talking about payments....
I got a kind of statement from RE last month, do they all do this or do we just check the payments against our figures? TIA :)

Sorry if this has already been asked a million times before, but how do people go about recording things so accurately on Gap without it being obvious? I was thinking of using the stopwatch on my phone...

I've joined Retail Eyes but there haven't been any jobs on it for Midlands over the last six weeks or so.

Henwen, when I first joined RE, it was just pub jobs that needed me to buy real ale, this went on for weeks, so in the end, I did one of them and now can see loads. Have you taken any jobs with them yet? you can only do one to start with as you will be on probationary status, but after that you can take loads!

Hi- I've been doing some ms-ing for the last year or so, mainly with re and gap. I've lurked a little round this excellent thread and found the alerts one very helpful- I wondered why I kept missing jobs- now I know I was missing this thread!:o
Anyway, from your collective wisdom I wanted to ask about bare, with whom I have a shopper score of 8, theoretically qualifying me to travel by air. However, although I see all the flights, and apply for some in this country, they just seem to stay on the board forever, and I go nowhere.I realise the workings of bare are mysterious but I know some people must be doing these jobs- do I need to up my score a bit? Or is it just one of those things??

Shopper score needed for flights was lowered to 5 a while back
You must meet the following qualifications to apply for this shop:
* Your Shopper Rating must be at least 5
* Your age must be 18 years or More
Their allocation system is pants. I get the impression that Michelle the bmi allocator does not clear the board when the flights are allocated.

I've had flight requests pending for ages (even past the cut off date).

Best thing to do if you want a flight is actually ring her up on
0208 123 2723 or email her at matkinson@bareinternational.com

BTW
The flights you see are the last ones as the contract ends in September.

I'd like to know, too. I have 2 jobs 'pending' with a due date of 25th July!!! and now they're sending out emails asking us to do other jobs that they obviously can't fill - well, if they can't be bothered to tell me if I've been assigned a job from a month ago, I don't think I can be bothered, either!

My feelings exactly.

The only time I've ever got jobs is when I actually email the project manager or they've actually rung me.

I thought we weren't allowed to contact them at all - on pain of death etc etc etc. It says do NOT ask schedulers the status of pending jobs, so I didn't dare!

I'm just not impressed with them. At the very least they should have a system which removes jobs which have already been allocated instead of leaving people hanging on and wondering.

There is a job in my area at the moment, and they have sent out an email about this and all the others that they obviously can't fill. If it was offered by another company I might consider it, but I just don't feel inclined to go out of my way for them now.

I got so fed up that I reasoned I had nothing to lose.

Anyway why include the managers name, email address and phone number if they do not want to be contacted ?

Good point!

Mind you, I am very new to all this so still learning the ropes and still a bit afraid to rock the boat! I think I was particularly upset because I applied for 2 telephone jobs with BARE when I was completely new (last month) and thought this would be a good first job to ease me into it - so it was really upsetting when I heard nothing. Now I've had a few bits of work from other companies so I can compare how BARE treat us with how the others treat us.
