Tranceaddict, exactly the same happened to me with CCCS. I did it all online and have never had a phone interview. If they've sent you the paperwork and you've got a client reference that treat it as they've accepted you. You can always give them a call this morning to triple check before you cancel direct debits and stuff.

Hope that helps and well done for starting your journey. Remember that we've all gone through it so ask any questions you want.

  • Thanks for the advise everyone. :T
I will write to them. Should I include a copy of the I/E that CCCS prepared?

I have signed up for DMP with CCCS, having done all the forms online. Had previously spoke to them and got advice before the DMP route because was in arrears with priority debts. Now have some questions.

Got paid today, and overtime money was included. This is not regular overtime, just something that happens every now and again, a couple of times a year, and sometimes have to take time off rather than overtime, depends on budget. Obviously, not included this as income as can't guarantee it, so, question is, what should I do? Can't pay it off any debts as all on DMP. If I make extra payment to everyone, they may think I can do it every month. I wish I did get an extra £200 every month, that would sort me out really quickly.

Second question, one of the companies on the DMP had a continuous authority on my debit card, and are refusing to cancel it. this month they have had money from CCCs and have taken the money on debit card. Short of cancelling the card, is there anything I can do?

    Gilligansyle,

I asked the same question about extra money when I started my dmp and everyone said to put it aside for your emergencies. With regard to the card payment I would think you could either ring the company up and see if they will stop taking payments off it, if they won't then you will probably have to cancel your card to stop them taking funds.

    Hope that helps

  • Murraymint, I wouldn't send a copy of the I&E as they would have received this from CCCS.

Gilligansyle - my hubby does overtime sometimes too, but this is not regular, so anything he earns on this we put into the emergency savings. You can do this or put it towards making full and final offers to your creditors in the future. But don't include it with your incomings for the creditors to see as it isn't guaranteed.

    :)

    Hi all

Had a good read through the thread but still a bit confused as to what happens now.

I contacted CCCS via their website last week, they recomended a DMP, I received the DMP paeprwork yesterday with the forms to send to my creditors and details about setting up a new account etc.

So far I have not had an "interview" or spoken in person to anyone at CCCS, as many others seem to have had. Have I still go to have this, or have they accepted me for a DMP (I have a client number) and I jst need to send of the paeprwork and thats it?

I'm going to the co-op today to open a basic account and will then be going online to cancel direct debits to all my creditors, don't want to do any of this if they haven't officially accepted me, if that makes sense.

    Many thanks for any help

You've done the equivalent of the phone interview on the web ;) You've given your income and expenditure and debts list and that's what the interview does - I did it via the web so that I wouldn't have to talk it all through on the phone (huge risk of sobbing down the phone :o)

If they recommended a DMP and sent you paperwork then you're all set - full steam ahead and all that :D

Hello - I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while (loads to catch up on here!).

Can anyone offer any suggestions please? I have 10 debts which have been on arrangement for about 3.5 years. Over the past couple of months, three have been taken off arrangement. However, I'm having difficulty with trying to organise them and I'd be grateful for any advice:

Two debts have been taken off arrangement as I'm paying about £30 more each month (between them) than the minimum.

One is off arrangement (without even telling me), and the minimum is about 50p more than I'm paying. However, the interest rate is 30% and going up to 35% in October so I'm only actually paying off £1.50 each month.

Five are with debt collection agencies, and they take a pro-rata amount from me.

One is a loan, with the interest added at the beginning, which I'm paying a reduced (pro-rata) amount each month.

The other is in dispute. It was on arrangement, they've now taken me off, but I'm still paying a pro-rata amount each month whilst they decide whether my offer is OK. My guess is that they are either selling this on to a DCA or I'm going back to a normal account because I'm paying the minimum.

My problem is that I don't feel that I'm being fair to all my creditors because some are getting interest etc. The only way I can see around this is to take the three that are not on arrangement, put together the amount of money I'm paying them all, pay the minimum amounts and use the rest to pay off the debt with 35% interest. This would then bring the debts down more quickly which means that I can pay the others more quickly.

Does anyone see a problem with this? Or have any other ideas?
Millie, are you on a self managed DMP?

Ex-Spendaholic - thanks. Yes I manage the DMP myself. I've been thinking about this overnight, and I don't think I can do what I'm suggesting because if any of me creditors ask to see my bank statement (and was does nearly every 6 months) they would see that I'm not paying what I said I would. Why is everything so complicated?

  • Morning all. It has been very busy on here the last few days. Well Citi sent a statement this morning they are still charging interest and late payment fees (thankfully not near the limit so no overlimit fees yet). Out of 10 creditors only 2 we have not heard from and Citi being one. Will fire of a CCA request to them and a letter requesting they stop. They have not phoned in weeks nor sent any letters so no idea if they are going to accept our dmp.

Off to catch up on whats been going on.
