Halifax to relaunch regular saver @10%+

@something_girl,
I agree they may 'bend' the rules for you.
If they insist on giving you 7% (or whatever rate applies from tomorrow), they may refund to an external account if you simply ask to close it.
Too late now, but I understand telephone banking payments from LTSB are done by the new Faster Payments system so the money should have arrived at Halifax the same day if you'd done the transfer that way.0 -
I went into Lloyds TSB to make the payment, as soon as I'd left the Halifax, so perhaps that's a slower way of phoning them? Ah well, I shouldn't have left it so bloomin' late!
Anyway... perhaps tomorrow they will re-launch the account at 15%!! hehe0 -
The Regular Saver is no more...is it?sloughflint wrote: »I've just looked on the A&L home page and it seems they are running an offer of £100 for switching to the Premier Current account that is associated with their RS.0 -
Damn! The Brucie Bonus wasn't there when I transferred :mad:sloughflint wrote: »Coming back to LTL's idea,
I've just looked on the A&L home page and it seems they are running an offer of £100 for switching to the Premier Current account that is associated with their RS.
If people happened to have dormant accounts elsewhere, they could take advantage of this by setting up a dummy SO before switching.
Potentially making the 23k hattrick a nice 9.65%.
On the positive side, it seems cash-in-hand bonuses are becoming a bit of a fashion at the moment, and very tax-efficient they are too :cool:You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -

@sloughflint,Get £100 when you apply online and use our Premier Switching Service
Looks like it's one or t'other to me.Premier Regular Saver, exclusive to you when you open a Premier Current Account at your local branch

Didn't notice the wording, but a couple of months back you applied for the Premier current account online and it asked if you wanted a 12% regular saver as well - no mention of the £100 incentive then though, but you had to use their transfer service to get the 12%er. I suspect the wording quoted by YB is an unfortunate slip of the web author's finger and you can apply.sloughflint wrote: »I'm 10 months into mine. Didn't take a screenshot at the time so can't compare but I didn't go into branch.
Worth a try if interested?
Totally off topic - has the MSE website suddenly gone all funny-format for you? The logo at the top has disappeared and the lines are all double spaced - seemed to happen late this afternoon. You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
Yep, it's like that for me too!0

Yup, YB is right: http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/current-accounts/premier-100-switching.aspx?&ct=100incentivesloughflint wrote: »Except I've just seen this:

A&L do like to keep changing things. I remember when the RS was associated to the other current account.
Back to 9.2% again.
Considering the low interest rate and the transfer requirements, I vote this £100 incentive as not worth it - anyone reading should look at the 12% linked RS account available through the branches instead. You must switch all your direct debits and standing orders to the account using our Premier Switching Service, within 11 weeks of opening the account. You must ask to do this in your account application. This is a limited offer and we may withdraw it at any time. The current account application depends on your circumstances. The most we will pay into each account is £100 (only one application for each customer and one application for each joint account). We will only make the payment into the Premier Current Account. You must meet our account conditions for us to make the payment. This includes paying at least £500 into your account each month. You must pay in the first £500 within 11 weeks of opening the account, whether or not your salary or income is to be transferred using the Premier Switching Service. If you have closed the account, we will not make a payment. Other account opening incentives may be available, if you apply in a different way than through www.alliance-leicester.co.uk.You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
