lloyds/tsb 6% account

dear people, got told today that lloyds will be paying 6% on one of there current accounts from monday. you have to pay a minimum one thousand each month, and only pays 6% up to two and a half grand.

    Is that for new customers only?

    I currently have a Classic Plus account paying 4.25%.

    I have a classic plus too, (although its recently gone down from 4.25% to 4% you know;) ),

    Im suprised at 6%, there must be more to it in terms of conditions/buying into other products, but will keep watching when loging onto lloyds internet banking for more details!

    It is likely to be for new customers only - as that is how LTSB has made offers on current account enhanced terms previously. That's not to rule out some general promotion but the 4% paying current account is pretty good against all comers as it is...

    I'll be gutted if it's just for new customers, I opened a new Classic Plus account paying 4% on Tuesday!!

    I'd be happy to close the account and re-open. Question is how long one would need to wait to become a new customer. (At A&L it's 3 months.)

    It will be available to new and existing customers.
    Existing customers MUST ask for it though (no details of how to do this yet)it will not applied automatically.

    If anyone sees this offer published by LloydsTSB anywhere, please can you let us know where you see it incase we need to refer to it to get the 6%.

    I was told in the branch to-day that I could not Plus Plus my Classic Plus account.

    I then downgraded the account to Classic to upgrade it to Classic Plus on Monday. Hopefully this will work!
