marion :j :j :j :j you look so fab:D
bright ideas I hope it all goes well for your son today:D
x-raph:j :j another great loss, wasting away yet?:j
welcome wantobeasaver, cheesecat, fredsnail,louise:D
anic i so love your story of your son and trains, I read it and thought I would give him the prize but then thought I would love to but I would love to go on the orient express more, heart, head, head won and heart:D
louise when I started I pretty much had the same as you to loose and for special occasions etc at the beginning used to avoid them, not saying that is the right thing to do at all just saying that is what I did so that I could stick to the plan and not be tempted etc but no way should you not go to your party .....later on as the weight was lost I have been known to take my own and only eat that so yes I could join in but knowing how many cals etc, I have even taken my own for fish and chips beach trip out:rolleyes: buffet once, took my wn salad to a BBQ and ate that when the others tucked in;) the swimming sounds like a great idea, walking, trampolining, any kind of exercise helps...
x-raph one year when I WENT to spain on hol, my inner legs rubbed together so much I had what OH called 'nappy rash':rotfl: :rotfl: it was red raw and impossibly sore, don't miss that now so understand what you mean;)
The perks of being diabetic I guess....sitting here shovelling and I MEAN shovelling choc into my mouth because having a major hypo and need it ..fast, the only prob is it tastes disgusting:rotfl: tastes like metal, steel, yuck but it is 'my medicine' to get the blood sugars back up to normal:rolleyes:0 -
Another new thread already??? Thanks Suggs for starting it
A 2lbs loss this week.. hoping for the same again next week to hit my 11 stone mark..
Well done to ALL the losers this week :T
I posted this on another forum I use and although I know we're all on the right track its why I started and how I got the 'click' this time around
Back in 2006 I was horrifically overweight. Im still too embarassed to admit my starting weight, one day I will, just not yet.
I have 2 gorgeous nieces, Emma (now 5) and Ciara (now 19 months) I realised if I didnt address my weight then I wouldnt be around to see them grow up.
I couldnt walk more than the length of myself without being breathless.
I couldnt get clothes to fit. I wore horrible horrible stuff I bought on ebay because nothing else fitted me.
I couldnt wear my uniform at work because I was too big to fit it.
I was scared Id die in my sleep.
I was turning into a hermit, refusing to go out unless it was somewhere 'safe' like my parents house.
I couldnt stand for more than 5 mins or my back hurt.
I had a cleaner to clean my flat, because honestly, I couldnt even do that.
I did all my shopping online because I couldnt face going to shops, besides I knew id be exhausted if I did.
When I went to buy a new car, I went to the dealer one day on my own, snuck into an open car to check I could fit behind the wheel (I could!) before I set about buying it.
In January 2007 my mum and I had a real heart to heart. We both ended up in tears as she confessed her biggest fears. My aunt died suddenly a couple of years ago and I saw what the grief did to my mum and realised what she went through with Annes death was nothing compared to what shed go through if it was me. That was it, my lightbulb moment! For the millionth time I decided I WOULD lose weight, only this time something clicked and I realised for once I was totally focused.
I started doing WW on 9 Jan 07, a complete turning point in my life. That first week I lost 6lbs. The following week I got the flu and ended up at my doctor, who brought up the subject of my weight. Without his help, Id never have got this far, hes been amazing!
Apart from my family and friends the other thing which has got me to where I am now, is Minimins (my other forum!). I was lucky enough to know of Summerskye through a mutual friend, who was also worried about what I was doing to myself and I learned about Minimins. Another turning point in my life! The only thing that worried me was anyone with a significant weight loss had done it through a VLCD (Cambridge Diet or Lighterlife) not WW or anything like it. I worried I was kidding myself on that I could lose the weight I needed to.
So now, 16 months on, Im 150lbs lighter.
I can now shop in numerous places.
Im on my 3rd uniform issue as things are too big for me.
I take my nieces out regularly to shop, to the park, to Burger King... Im now the auntie I always wanted to be.
I do my own shopping
I do my own cleaning
I go to the gym!
My life has improved beyond words....
To anyone struggling, hang in there, you CAN do it. If I can, anyone can. Whether its a VLCD or WW etc it can absolutely be done....
I cant wait til this time next year to see where I am.....0 -
Marion A huge well done on losing 101 lbs  and thank you so much for posting those lovely photos. The difference is amazing :j I can't believe from looking at your second photo that you still have another 200 to lose
xxxx
Good morning Pet! Actually when I got my calculator out it works out to only 172 lbs more to go - :j  :j . That will take me to just over 10 stone! Don't think I have been that weight since I was a teen!

Brighton_belle wrote: »Marion - thank you so much for posting your pictures - the difference is stunning: as every one says, you look so much younger and the 2nd really shows off the beautiful warmth of your face. I feel quite choked that you have done this, knowing how shy you have felt. You are a star.:T :T :T . Congratulations on joining the 100lbs club too
Thank you so much for saying such kind things! :T Although I am still shy enough that I cropped my pictures so you can only see my head!!:rotfl: As I get braver I will reveal more.:o  .

Thanks Suggs, for the new thread...was a little disconcerting...honestly, I just turned my back for a minute, and when I turned back...LW20 was gone!!!
Thankfully, ajax left a trail of party balloons he saved from the gutter party...phew...you don't get rid of me that easily!!!...Mind you, when i get here, its already 5 pages in...all the 'new' has worn off!!!
Thanks Missyg & Sue-UU...it is starting to fall off with no effort / deprevation...amazing.
A huge WELCOME to all the newcomers...I hope you make yourselves comfy and enjoy the company. Good luck with the weight loss goals too.
Congrats to all the 'losers' too...inspirational...
Marion, I agree with everyone here; you look so much younger, and there is a sparkle in your face, like you are starting to find the joy in life...a beautiful thing to see...keep up the great effort. I have 120 lbs to go, myself...
Lost 1 more lb...that makes 3lbs so far this week... it will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings, as it is official weigh in, tomorrow.
The week is almost through, gang...make it count...show those scales who's boss!!!

Thank you kindly vixarooni - but what is a RLILF? I am assuming it's Real Life ...

I looked at a couple of varieties and they are about the same.
B-belle she's 95% recovered, thanks. Just 6 weeks left of the blood-thinning tablets after the pulmonary embolism and then back to normal. Only complication is that she may need another operation on the leg as one of the screws in the plate is slightly loose - they'll assess that in November.
Missy..... interesting. I won't say too much in case you're watching it 'as live'. All I will say is that you may be sat there some time
Got to go and play golf today on a work society day in Wales. I haven't been to foreign lands in ages, and really don't fancy it today. Why do I sign up for these things? Of course, food is going to be baguettes and sandwiches and nothing else. Pah stupid, stupid me. I wanna stay at home.
Marion, the RLILF is very naughty on vix's part. I'll help you out with the RL though, it's Retired Lady.........Vix can tell you the last word
