I raised an enquiry in Jan, and I still haven't heard back, although it wasn't sent to A&L until beginning of March.

Rather frustrating - seems like a number of people haven't had their applications tracked.

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

    Grrrrrrrrr

Just had my enquiry for the HSBC saver turned down by the merchant

Dont know why or how as I have the saver account with money in it and I am an existing customer.

Feel cheated as the only reason i applied for it was for the £20.

Can I close the account and then open it again and try again ???????

Once the ticket with quidco has been declined, is there any way to appeal this?

Has anyone else been turned down?

    TIA

    WHAT YOU COULD DO:
You can ask the bank to honour the payment anyway - they did in the case of my application for a current account in November. Quidco were useless but when I wrote to HSBC (online message) in the following terms
When I applied for this account it was offering £20 cashback through the referral site (Quidco.com) which I used. I was accepted for the account immediately on [ACCEPTANCE DATE] and HSBC supplied the on screen reference '[INSERT YOUR 'IB' NUMER HERE]' in connection with that application. HSBC has now informed the referrer that it will not pay the £20.

I am not happy about that. I am therefore asking that HSBC honours this arrangement and pays the £20 as i) Quidco can confirm that I did apply through them. ii) HSBC won't have paid the cashback to any OTHER site in connection with my application (I assume)

Can you please arrange to pay the £20 to Quidco (so that they can pay me) or failing that pay the £20 directly to me.

    As the HSBC blurb says:

"Your custom is important to us and we want you to be entirely satisfied with the service you receive from us.

"Even the best organisations sometimes make mistakes, and if we do, or we fail to meet your expectations in some other way, we want the opportunity to put things right as quickly as we can. In addition we will take steps, where appropriate, to prevent a recurrence."

I therefore hope that you can prove your credentials on this matter and will aim to resolve it to my satisfaction.

    Thanking you
The cash was credited by HSBC to the account after a few days!

  • I had applied through www.wepromiseto.co.uk and had my £20 cashback without much quibbles.

Stop touting your referral links - that's 2 posts in quick succession you have mentioned that site.

No referral link was quoted in the post u mention, I suggest u get your facts right before spouting off.
If you look at the link's properties, the url is 'http://www.wepromiseto.co.uk/r/4595' which suggests that it is a referral link, rather than a straightforward link to the site, i.e. 'http://www.wepromiseto.co.uk/'
  • @bristol - was that a reply to my message and did you delete your post? As you can see I wasn't "spouting off" and this member is spamming everywhere.
