My flexdirect 5% says it'll pay 1% after the first 12 months which is fine as I'll use it as my float account as it will pay higher than my other side accounts do. What I don't know is whether I still have to make sure I transfer £1k in every month to keep that rate. Does anyone know?

To get any interest on a FlexDirect you must pay in £1000 each month from an external account.

If you don't care about the interest, but want to keep the FlexDirect to qualify for the 5% regular saver you don't need to pay anything in.

Hello! I have just discovered this thread and it is just what I was looking for to keep myself motivated. I decided to aim for £7000 savings this year and just submitted my form. I think I can save between £500 to £1000 per month for the first part of this year, but then we are hopefully moving house with larger mortgage payment so then I think it will be £500 max.
I have set a budget for the month and put all the pots of cash for each category into plastic envelopes and feel very organised and determined! Good luck everyone.

Afternoon all, no. 15 here reporting the grand total for January of £62.40 :rotfl:but I fully expected it to be nil for this month so I guess that's not a bad result. Onwards and upwards! :)
In April I am taking a break from buying: Books

Thanks for confirming what I suspected, it won't be a problem continuing with a £1k money shift every month to retain the 1%. Once my 2 current regular savers mature (one this month and one next month) I should have sufficient funds to re open them and go for the Nationwide one as well, giving me 3 RS's running at the same time.
