Hello,
Does anyone currently work as a live in carer or has done in the past?
My question is do you get days off during the weekend and are you allowed to visit your own family throughout the day while sort of on duty for the cared for?
Thanks.

That depends on many other factors. It's not that simple.
Nor should you (specifically you) be employing anyone - as you're asking very basic questions.
Live-in carers who I've known worked 1 week on, 1 week off0 -

Its called freedom of speech princess.
Your not like a forum mod and think you are following me about and trying to think i'm some sort of criminal carer.
I can say what I want and how brief or specific I want, don't like it dont read it princess.Unpaid - not sure why you think it would be paid.
well, carers do get respite care.0 -
Its called freedom of speech princess. - Isnt that somewhat hypocritical? Katrina was simply using her freedom of speech and you tried to curtail it: Do not make false accusations without any evidence.
Your not like a forum mod and think you are following me about and trying to think i'm some sort of criminal carer. - I'm not making any such claim, but you do have many posts of the benefits board.
I can say what I want and how brief or specific I want, don't like it dont read it princess. - not sure calling her princess is particularly mature. You can indeed write whatever you wish, and so can others.

Carers might get respite care; but I think you're being very optimistic to think you'll be paid for 26 weeks of not working.0 -

I didn't say i would be paid for 26 weeks being off, how many hours would you get for family time.Every other week would be pushing it.
There's a law of working time regulations unsure if it applied to the care industry.0
