Any Live In Carers

its a choice. Some believe they do it out of love and shouldn't be paid, some believe that if the allowance is there and is an option why not give your son, daughter, brother or sister a paid job if they don't have one or not earning enough rather than the money being sent abroad for wars.
We already pay tax every time you use your debit card or pay for goods they don't tell you they dont want you to know.
You don't appear to have answered the very simple question of how much extra tax would you pay to fund a similar lifestyle for myself?Originally Posted by shortcrust

No extra tax is required what is required is existing tax to be retained and redistributed to people in need rather than MP's expenses being increased.0

Total MP's expenses was £115m, so about £2 per person a year. Which is about 15 minutes of care in your world.

Somehow, I don't think you've thought any of this through. I'll leave you to your fantasy.Originally Posted by shortcrust

Yes, and what have the MP's done for the last 3 years betrayed the public with brexit and we are happy to fund and vote for them for this?
You know absolutely nothing about me remember that. Do not put words into my mouth.0 -
Being a full time carer is a choice. I'm starting to stand up for carers as they have been ridiculed by everyone so much so the carers themselves don't tell anyone they are a carer as the get treated like their on the dole.
Friends and family know how to care more than private agencies and the cared for are far more comfortable with friends and family than others which the state fights for more pays them more when they simply say its not my job it's not in the policy. I have heard of almost daily complaints for elderly relatives about councils cordia service that they don't even fulfill their time that they have paid for.
Carers do get carers allowance however its way way below what they deserve for 35 sometimes 50 hours of work per week sacrificing their employment and social life in the process.
The law has been changed recently to employ relatives and family within the same household. I'm going by the law and that's all that really matters who cares what people think they don't know anything about you.
You are not making a stand for anyone, you are wanting a certain lifestyle and believe that you should be paid for this from other people’s taxes.
Earlier in the thread you were suggesting that full pay and one week on one week off would suit you. I asked if you thought this was suitable why could you not work on you week off you didn’t answer.
I don’t know you brothers needs but I know my Mums I work and support my family we moved my mum in with us and I am her primary carer. I work 50 hours per week to earn enough money to support us and spend another at least 28 hours a week caring for my Mum. Because I work over 15 hours a week I am not entitled to any carers allowance but I don’t expect as someone else has said nor do I expect it for looking after my children. I don’t want anyone else to fund me I completely understand that there are some people who need financial help or support I am healthy enough to work so I can care for mum and work so I am not taking off of someone else.
I would suggest that MP’s expenses are more acceptable (now) than the justification of many people’s benefits. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -

There are 7million “family” carers in the uk so this would mean and extra £16 ish each per year I would guess that even the OP would, it think this enough. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -

Where have i stated that. I am stating what options are available as the authorities don't tell you, the people know better who have been in the same shoes.
You are lying saying I wanted 1 week off and 1 week on someone else mentioned this NOT ME.

Nor should you (specifically you) be employing anyone - as you're asking very basic questions.
Live-in carers who I've known worked 1 week on, 1 week off
1 week on and off how does that work is the week off paid/unpaid?
Does how does that work equal to me wanting that time off its nonsense. I'm asking a question about the process, you don't know if i will go down that path you already have made a conclusion.
Well, thats understandable if you don't want money to look after your children, but people get child benefit? Everyone should reject and mock it shouldn't they.
People must have a choice to be a paid or unpaid carer for anyone or work simple and none of them should be mocked or looked down on and treated equally.Do you think they have done nothing other than screw up Brexit over the last 3 years ?
They have done things which any other government would do but the fundamental issues have been let down. Poverty increasing, foodbank use increasing, benefit sanctions.
And no one is even questioning the £40-£45 billion pound divorce bill of brexit like its nothing. See the government see it as £40-50 quid as its only 5-6% of gdp taxpayers money.0 -
I don’t get child benefit because I choose to work hard ....
I have no problem in paying taxes for people to have professional careers, I do have an issue pay8ng for family members to do what I believe is their duty. Just as it should be the family members choice whether they are carers or not then surely I should have a choice as to whether my work (taxes) are used to pay for that but sadly I don’t.
Here is what parliament has done in the last three years
https://services.parliament.uk/bills/
If people are fit and healthy they should work I left school with 5 o levels and I have worked for the last 30 plus years I have never taken a penny in benefits and other than my old age pension I never intend to. I understand that some people are no choice I know people on benefits who have full sky packages, smoke and drink and this is not how this money should be spend I have none of theseIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
Carers allowance falls below JSA rates and below national minimum wage while the law states you says you need £105 per week to live on and the state should support you where carers allowance is half of that and they work more than 35 hours per week. The scottish government is trying to increase the carers allowance rate in line with JSA is a step in the right direction however it still falls below what the law says the minimum amount citizens should be living on. Whos breaking the law? The scottish government has also introduced a carers credit for carers as well its still falls below minimum wage or what the law says you need to live on.
Their are family members and relatives some 5 of them getting paid to look after the affairs of people with high or low care needs through the local authority providing budgets most people don't know when they hear about it they say its illegal when you show them the care act 2014 they believe what it says on the act not what you say as your not a MP or health professional.
You can normally apply for I think it’s income support/ universal credit to top it up. Check on entitledto.com I think it is, bob all your details in and it will tell you what you can get:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:
