That’s what you get the carers allowance for - personal care, general support.

You might possibly get support workers in to take him into the community to attend classes etc to give you a break, but I will be really really surprised if they pay you more than the carers allowance.

It’s a really daft system but they generally seem to think family can just get carers allowance for looking after family, but it is what it is sadly

Carers allowance falls below JSA rates and below national minimum wage while the law states you says you need £105 per week to live on and the state should support you where carers allowance is half of that and they work more than 35 hours per week. The scottish government is trying to increase the carers allowance rate in line with JSA is a step in the right direction however it still falls below what the law says the minimum amount citizens should be living on. Whos breaking the law? The scottish government has also introduced a carers credit for carers as well its still falls below minimum wage or what the law says you need to live on.

Their are family members and relatives some 5 of them getting paid to look after the affairs of people with high or low care needs through the local authority providing budgets most people don't know when they hear about it they say its illegal when you show them the care act 2014 they believe what it says on the act not what you say as your not a MP or health professional.

You claim carer's premium alongside JSA or ESA, so you get extra money. it is not less than JSA,

From reading your threads it seems you won't be happy until you are paid a full time wage equivalent (or more, it seems) for the care you provide, which will not happen unless you are a professional carer.

You keep mentioning minimum wage but thats irrelevant. You are not working. You are not an employee. You basically want more money, and seem to think as you 'care' 24/7 you should be getting paid 24/7 with every other week off. Thats not gonna happen.

You can ask for examples and 'attend events; all you like but you cant get help on here unless you lay out the specific scenario (it does not need to be identifying despite your previous protests) Why were all your questions not answered by all the people at the events who get direct payments? Why didnt yu get some contacts so they could help you get what you say they are getting. Instead you just started thread after thread after thread asking the same vague question and getting cross when people a) dont give you the answer you want or b) get cross people need more info to help you which you flat out refuse to provide.

You keep saying no other care provider can help you. Well they can. There are hundreds of thousands of professional carers and they absolutely can help your brother with personal care and going to the gym. As far as I am concerned you simply want the money to go to you, not someone else. You have provided zero evidence of an actual need for the carer to be you and not a professional carer other than it being a preference. You are making a mockery of people who actually do need this help.

You don't know what benefits i get so stop speculating.

why should a carer be paid less than JSA or someone working full time when the law states you should be earning at minimum £105 pw. I'm standing up for my rights and those other carers who save the country I think its £16 billion per year yeah no one cares about that fine with me.

Never did I say i need to be paid for 24/7 care you are putting words into my mouth then making accusations that are simply fictional.

My questions were answered at the events and I have a few planned soon they are holding more as everyone agrees its a minefield and the social work are incompetent of the law and procedure so carers are telling the social work how to do their job right.

I have contacts 1 of them works for the scottish government. I have 3 contacts.

I don't need to provide evidence to you or anybody lol

I want the money and not anyone else that is simply nonsense. If that was the case why do I have an employee to help with cleaning??

I'm for carers standing up for their rights to be equal for those who do far less work and get paid more.

It seems people like yourself are in bed with the dwp and government and thinks that its a perfect system and fair while there is so much incompetence and misguidance going on when you question it you get labeled a benefit cheat or criminal.

Frankly I'd just abolish the benefits system.

lol its on the dwp letters you get every year.

Right to a carers assessment right to have a life outside of caring!

Because carers should not work for free when private care workers are getting 3 or 4 times the money for doing less EQUALITY?

I am the prime career for my severely disabled mother I work 2 x 16 hour days in an office to earn money and pay bills, I work the other three days for myself at home and have to fit in all my mums appointments and needs around this.

On the days I am working away from home we have to have careers in. I don’t get a penny in benefit or carers allowance nor do I expect it, I am looking after MY Mum why should I expect others to work to pay me to look after my Mum when I can however hard work this in myself.

I would expect to be paid to look after your brother and I would expect you to be paid if you were a carer and looking after my Mum but to have this much beef and think you are being hard done by and should be paid to do this does not paint you in a very good light.

If you think it would be feasible (if being paid) not to look after your brother every other week why can’t you just do this and use the other week to get employment at these times ?
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

Being a full time carer is a choice. I'm starting to stand up for carers as they have been ridiculed by everyone so much so the carers themselves don't tell anyone they are a carer as the get treated like their on the dole.

Friends and family know how to care more than private agencies and the cared for are far more comfortable with friends and family than others which the state fights for more pays them more when they simply say its not my job it's not in the policy. I have heard of almost daily complaints for elderly relatives about councils cordia service that they don't even fulfill their time that they have paid for.

Carers do get carers allowance however its way way below what they deserve for 35 sometimes 50 hours of work per week sacrificing their employment and social life in the process.

The law has been changed recently to employ relatives and family within the same household. I'm going by the law and that's all that really matters who cares what people think they don't know anything about you.

Maybe I should bill the government for all the hours I looked after my relatives (aka my children, you know, being a cook, cleaner, taxi, nanny, babysitter which all meant sacrificing my social life and overtime) whilst they were not being looked after by the state (aka teachers) - how much extra tax would you pay to fund the bill?

its a choice. Some believe they do it out of love and shouldn't be paid, some believe that if the allowance is there and is an option why not give your son, daughter, brother or sister a paid job if they don't have one or not earning enough rather than the money being sent abroad for wars.

We already pay tax every time you use your debit card or pay for goods they don't tell you they dont want you to know.
