Whilst you can put money into these accounts by Faster Payment from anywhere, to get your money out of them, you need to use a current account with them. .

Until now I didnt have a Lloyds Current Account for 4 months, I moved money out of regular saver via Easy.Saver account.

For residents of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Greater London, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex: London Capital Credit Union
    • operated by COOP bank
    • FSCS protected
    • doesn't pay interest but any surplus gets paid to members as dividends
    • looks easy enough to join online if you are eligible
    • they recommend a minimum of £20/mth, or £5/wk - probably wise to take note of that recommendation if you want the facility to last
    • withdrawals look potentially a bit cumbersome
    • looks also good for fans of savings pots
    • are expected to offer a PrizeSaver account

Lol so does that mean they can just get away with tiny amounts of dividends?

As they charge borrowers up to 26.8% APR, you'd hope that there would be a distribution of sorts...;)

Are you not already a member, then? You not want the recruitment reward?
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

I am now, but obviously am not allowed to punt for referrals outside the referrer's board ;)

No white lie needed. It's perfectly legit, for any UK resident, to join the COOP for £1. You can do this online and you get your membership number instantly. Once you are a COOP member and live in the eligible areas, you qualify for the LCU account. Trying to wing it if you are not eligible is probably a very bad idea as LCU require proof of ID and address.

Oh yes there may - note "may" as in my previous.

You were quoting their method 2 - but you didn't quote this, also from method 2

"If you shop at the Co-op and have this card and live in this region you can join us!!

And that is the white lie I, and many others would need to deploy. I've no idea where there is a Co-op.

I love the COOP convenience stores as they have a range of lovely fresh food, besides all the other stuff you expect to find in a convenience store. There are over 4,000 of them - it's hard to imagine that anybody never shopped there, if only just once in their lives ;). When joining the COOP, you are not being asked to prove anything so it'd be hard to tell even a white lie. The only thing LCU want to know is your COOP membership number.
