Yes, I find baby showers quite a weird concept. They were getting quite popular when I was having DD, but I made it quite clear I wasn't interested in having one. I got them a decent present, one I know they needed so will not buy another when the babies are here.

A week long festival sounds great, Pidge! There is a few free things we are hoping to do this week. Today, we had planned to go to an event at the library and then to the cinema but it didn't go to plan... Apologies if this makes you itch..

Getting ready this morning and saw DD has head lice :eek: I have no idea where from. She has never had them before and I haven't had to deal with them in about 10 years since DS was little. I only found 3 but quite a few eggs, yuck! I really wish I took a photo of DS when I told him he couldn't go out with his friends, so I could check him for nits :rotfl:
She was the only one with them, maybe I went over the top but spent £20 on lotion for us all and did 4 loads of washing. All the bedding, cushions, blankets, towels. I am not taking any chances.

So after all that. This evening we went to local harbour and took DDs bike. She is still practicing and is desperate to be able to do it on her own without the stabilisers, but no luck yet. She is determined so I know she will get the hang of it soon.

Yes, an annoying unexpected expense. Have checked us all again today and so far, so good. Dustydigger, that is a coincidence. I feel itchy again just talking about it.

DMP_Tiger, I do feel lucky. I love where we live, it's a beautiful place. There was randomly an ice cream van at the harbour the other week, but not seen before or since. Love going for evening walks.

Spent the whole day out today with best friend and DC, was a really lovely day. My chest is still feeling bad, but lots of fresh air helped. Good thing about spending the whole day in the woods is there isn't anything to spend money on so a NSD today.

Today ended up being more expensive than I had planned. Spent the morning with a RSPB group doing pond dipping with DD. Cost £3, handy as that's all I had left of my weekly money. She always enjoys going on the events they put on.

Then happened to see that Sainsburys had the 25% off offer, so we braved the crowds and have nearly got the school stuff done and dusted, apart from shoes. Also included the specialised school shop for DS. Ordered DS a brand new Explorer shirt, as didn't have much luck buying second hand last time. But got a 10% off voucher for that too. We did stop for some food, but all the savings covered it and still have plenty to get shoes. Spent just under £200, so savings have dropped quite significantly.

I tend to find it hard to spend money on myself. I have had a £40 voucher in my purse since my birthday in February. Well today, I decided to spend it... On Me did the order online and it cost me an extra £1.68 on top but I have a nice few bits coming.

Friday again! Lack of sleep is catching up with me, I do not function well as a human being with so little sleep :rotfl: Chest is feeling a bit better again, so hopefully will get some tonight.

Best friend had DD for me today while I was at work, spent £3 of my weekly money on cake for us all for when I got back to her house. £10 (budgeted) given to DS to get his hair cut.

Off out for the day tomorrow. Really looking forward to it. Yet another picnic to make and pack. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
