Thank you Pidge, very kind words :)

Totally agree too. We have loved the simple pleasures of just having more time together these holidays. Spending time with family and friends and just actually having some chilled days before school starts all over again. Cannot wait to smell the sea air when we go to visit my Nan, the simple things :D

This morning I had work so my parents came to look after the DC, then afterwards we decided to go and do the pottery painting at the craft village, but it wasn't open! So DD made a beautiful candle instead (£3) and a wonderful 4 strand bead keyring (£4) which she gifted straight back to me :rotfl: I love it! Then not good for my waist but I was really fancying chocolate, so spent my last few pounds on a box, will try and make them last but we will see

Been hearing all about the GCSE results today, won't be long really until it will be DS turn.

I mentioned in my opening post that I am a wimp. This is totally true, I am scared to do things out of my comfort zone. I have worked at the same place since I started there for a Saturday job when I was 15, I am now 31. I really enjoy my job and love the people who I work for (a family run business) the hours have always worked well for me as until recently DH worked away Mon-Fri every week, and meant I was around to do school runs etc. But, in a few years the place I work will be shutting down as plans are already in place for them to retire and sell up. I know I will have to grow a pair and actually get a proper job with proper hours

So, after hearing amazing stories today, I have applied to go back to college to do my Maths, the one GCSE that I failed miserably at. I know it will help when the time comes for me to look for another job. Will wait and see if I get a space on the course. Even now, I am feeling quite anxious that they will actually say yes :o

Oh my! What a super positive step to take! Really proactive. Fingers crossed you are given a place.
I am really sorry to hear your place of work will be closing after having worked there for a long time.
Hope you can find something which gives you some flexibility.

Thank you Pidge and WelshKitty, I really do appreciate it.

Today, I did the initial assessment, went well but I am unlikely to hear anything until after bank holidays in regards to having a space on the course. I am still feeling apprehensive about it, but I know the longer I put it off, the worse it will be for me. I need to believe in myself more.

Had work this morning, and then spent the rest of the day with b/f and DC, will be much the same tomorrow. Weekly money reset yesterday and haven't spent any of it yet. Also getting a refund (£4) off our shopping as realised some of the meat went out of the date, the day it was delivered.

Told my lovely boss about my plans, she was very happy for me. She said after she feared I was going to say I was going to leave. I'm sure I am going to leave there kicking and screaming like a little baby coming out into the unknown :rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

I had work Sat/Sun but also had friends over and had a nice walk. All my weekly money has been spent. Shopping came in way under budget as we are going away at the end of the week, so we had a Chinese tonight :o it wasn't even that nice, I'm not a fan, but was out voted by the others, least I didn't have to cook.

We all had a wonderful day today, travelled to Wales and did the four waterfalls walk, Sgwd-Yr-Eira is absolutely amazing. DD did great, was tough going in places but she was so proud she completed it. Did need extra petrol, I used some money from the school holiday pot, plus parking.

Cannot believe it is already countdown to school starting again. I love the holidays, time flies when your having fun!

Hi Robin, just had a read though as I've spotted you lurking on mine ;)

I love how you've been out and about on a budget these holidays. I must be more imaginative with my time.

I hope you have a lovely break this weekend :)

    Good evening Jwil,

I am definitely a lurker around these parts :o I love reading everyone's diaries. Everyone has such different ways of doing things and I love that there is no judgment around here.

Today, was spent at home. DD was an emotional wreck most of the day, think yesterday's hike tired her out a bit too much. So a chilled day at home, between visits from my parents and sister, I had a sort out. Why I decided to tackle the craft drawers while DD was in the house I don't know  she literally got rid of nothing. But at least it is tidier.

My parents have offered their computer to DS, they never use it and it will come in handy for his school work as he's about to start year 10. Very kind of them. Need to find time and go pick it up and move his room around to fit in the desk.

It's so difficult trying to get rid of stuff with kids around!

That's a nice gift from your parents :)

    Good evening,

Yes, was very kind of them :) went and picked it up today but couldn't fit the desk in the car so my dad is bringing that down tomorrow.

Had a another lovely day today with best friend and DC. Just at her house, did some baking and the DC played happily together. They all go to different schools, so do not catch up much during school term so they have enjoyed spending time together these holidays :)

Still haven't got DS school shoes, we both hate going shopping and keep putting it off. He goes back Tuesday, so can't put it off much longer.
