Such a refreshing breeze here today, with spells of torrential rain and thunder. Saved me having to go out and water the veg patch today. Airer back in the dining room though with a load of washing to dry.0

Really impressed with your shopping Tink. I liked Aldi when I went but it is just so far out of my way. I am thinking I may start putting some money by and going and stocking up on some things every few months or so. The only local shops we have here are a little Tesco and CoOp.
Your pasta sauce sounds great, I try not to waste anything either. Made a soup last week from random leftovers veggies that everyone said looked like pukebut it was delicious and even DD liked it and she isn't a big fan of soup normally.
Slime making sounds awesome. Will look that up!SPC 0760 -
Amazing isn't it, dustydigger. The garden is resembling a jungle in the space of a couple days. The colours are so vibrant here too. My DH is also grumbling about the grass needing doing. How frustrating about the bindweed, gardens can take up as much time as the housework I find. Had more downpours today, was such a lovely breeze again, both of my two love the rain, DD cannot think of anything better than rolling around in mud :rotfl: Cannot wait for Autumn, my favourite season.SPC 0760

Yesterday was just spent at home. Watched a movie and did some baking together. Shopping for the week was delivered yesterday and came just over budget again at £77.25, really need to get this down.
Today, we went for a walk around one of the local lakes. We searched for painted rocks and hid some that DD had painted. Then joined up to the summer reading challenge at the library. Stopped at the shop on the way home and spent £2.95 on some chocolate and marshmallows as DS wanted to get his fire pit out. So we sat in the garden and managed to do that in between downpours. They had their sickly sweet treat - A ice cream cone filled with marshmallows, chocolate and strawberries, wrapped in tin foil and melted on the fire pit. Undecided what to do tomorrow, apart from figuring out the budget for August.SPC 0760 -

Do you need sky?
You pay 24 for phone, 27 for internet. That's £50.
You could easily get an internet only package with line rental included for £15.
Don't use the land line, use your mobiles. £36 pound. £432 savings in one year.0 -
Good morning,
Honeysucklelou, it is a nice treat. Ends up as a gooey mess and they love it. Prefer it with bananas myself. Just something different to do occasionally instead of the normal roasted marshmallows.
Smellyonion, I know our phone line is a complete rip off. But it's all in DH's name and I cannot do anything about it and he just can never seem to find the time. It is so frustrating. I will broach the subject with him again this evening.
We have the basic package of sky and I still believe that's a rip off too, but then I rarely watch it. DH and DS do however have certain programmes they like to keep up on. But again I have tried to talk them into getting rid as I find Netflix is viewed a lot more.
Our mobiles are PAYG and we stretch them out to last the month so I do use the house phone quite a bit. Mainly to keep in touch with my Nan.
Hope you both have a lovely day.SPC 0760 -
Sunshine is back. Another nice chilled day. Went for another lovely walk around the docks, picking blackberries as we went along. Got a big tub full.
Budget is set for August. I have budgeted a chunk for summer holiday activities. We also had a couple extra things that needed to be budgeted in for August. I am hopeful that we will be able to save a minimum of £150 from DH wage. Not as much as hoped but I did spend a big amount of money today....
My parents mentioned today that they are going to visit my Nan at the end of August. I do not see my Nan as much as I like as she lives over 3 hours away and the last time I saw her was the beginning of March for my Grandad's funeral. It makes me sad that one of the reasons I did not get to see my Grandad more was money related. Anyhow, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take the kids away for a few days, see my Nan and save on petrol costs as we can go with my parents. So, £183 spent booking B&B family room. I am however, really really looking forward to seeing her and its even more special as we will be there for her birthday, I cannot even remember the last time I celebrated her birthday with her.
Something to look forward to.SPC 0760 -
DS was off out today with friends so gave him a packed lunch and a few pounds to take.
DD spent the morning with my parents while I went to work and then we went out this afternoon to a free event that was happening local. Met up with some friends that we do not see often. Was a lovely afternoon apart from the horrendous mission trying to find somewhere to park and people not knowing how a one way system works, was rather stressful. Didn't spend any money while we was there.
Weekly money resets tomorrow and I have £6.40 left of this week's plus the £10 from last week still. This can be used for the holidays.SPC 0760 -
Feeling a bit down in the dumps today.
Went to pick DS up last night from a friends and the car is making a very loud banging and screech. Sure it will need more money thrown at it.
Looking over budget and savings knowing that by the end of the month the savings will be a lot lower due to school expenses going out. It is days like this that I resent the fact DH got us into so much debt and got it to such a bad situation before I found out.
But, it's just money. It's not like we were ever rolling in it anyway. I am grateful for many things in our life's and know I will snap of this mood soon.SPC 0760
