Thought I’d mention I bought a joint of beef from M, a couple of weeks ago, the ones they were doing for £4.50 kg before Christmas. As it was vacuum wrapped it was difficult to see if any fat etc was running through it.

I cooked it on low in the slow cooker but when it came to carve it, it was awful. So much waste due to the fat layers running through it and it wasn’t tender at all.

I kept the outer wrapper which showed the joint was clearly well in date so I just bagged the wrapper up and put it in the fridge to return for a refund.

When I got to CS they asked if I had a receipt, unfortunately DH had thrown it out but as I had the price on the wrapper they refunded me fine. However, I was told that M policy is that anything bought from their Market Street section, that’s all the fresh items, which doesn’t meet their high standards can be returned for a full refund and if you have the receipt, you also get a replacement product. So if DH hadn’t have chucked the receipt I could have got another piece of beef too :o

Handy to keep this in mind for the future :)

Important notice. Please use caution as this method can splatter your walls. I remember this well, when was it, which year was it when several of us bought all the reduced cream?

    I remember it well.

Any one in mr a in buzzy hornet land I appear to have dropped a womble when I suddenly realised it was 9.30 and they were closing the back door where we were parked, 2.10 mullers.

In light of this, I guess this will be my last elite post, it was lovely knowing you all and I can only apologise for this abject failure.

    evening all
    Very windy tonight :)

I went to a small A today not my usual as I wanted to pop into W that was in the same town.
I duly picked up my banana some 10p sweets and 15 cans of beans/ravioli/spaghetti armed with 2 smallish apgs to cover the cost I waited behind 2 people friends/husband +wife? The lady done her shopping and produced an apg then another and another all together she must have handed in at least 12 filthy and some screwed up apgs clearly wombles.. no comment at all from the sa..(I would go to that store more often but its 30mile round trip!!!!)
I was going to ask if the lady if she was a friend of Martin..but I thought I wouldn't as the shop she had, seemed a muggled shop.
Her friend then went next with his shopping and handed over cash. !
After our apgs went through 8p cash was handed over..the said lady sat watching us as our apgs were handed in, got up and then left...
when putting our trolley back the wombler made a classic mistake...left a wet receipt in a trolley, after it was dried out produced £1.44 :)

For those making butter from cream, remember that if you do put a bag over your mixer be careful not to overheat your motor, my mixer has a splatter guard otherwise it would be carnage:rotfl:
