For those making butter from cream, remember that if you do put a bag over your mixer be careful not to overheat your motor, my mixer has a splatter guard otherwise it would be carnage:rotfl:
I'm thinking (if I get cheap cream) using hand mixer by putting mixers through a clear bag...so the bag covers the bowl.
Always mean to ask what people do with all the 10p fillers that are bought?
most of my fillers are
brown onion x 2 ( 1 weighed in veg section and 1 weighed on payment scale)
i think red onion would be the same.
2 bananas
2 carrots
so thats a possible 8 fillers. no real need to keep buying sweets.
i know thats not what you asked. but fillers like this are used.0 -
Phew, I persevered and caught up two days or more tonight :eek:Daisybanks wrote: »Oh! if anyone is passing a Poundland they have started reducing christmas goods to 25p. Some doggie advent calenders 25P best before Dec 2019 plus other dog related stuff at 25p wrapping paper 25p. Most christmas stuff was 25p in my local store. Thought of 3dogs and our poppy with the doggie stuff. Take care x
Thanks for thinking of us Daisybanks. I'm doing my first shop since before Christmas tomorrow so will pop to Poundland too :TMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Be careful with the new plastic 5 and 10 notes
OH takes dog out for walk each night and has found £60 since mid nov.
Too many of these notes are flying out of pockets because they won't fold into a tight bundle... or hold/attach onto anything!
... Now there is another incentive for the Elite steps challengers.

Morning
In Tesco - Felix Treats Time Tin/Goody Bag (contains 5x packs of treats, normally at least £1 a pack) reduced to £2.
Also showing on Mysupermarket at £2 for Sainsbobs

I think these will go even cheaper in Tesco but doubt there will be many about.
Waitrose half price event, worth having a look through for stuff on my picks or targetting from Asda.

HP Original Sauce 450g, HP £1.07 and 86p on My picks.
Heinz Salad Cream 425g HP 99p and 79p on My picks.
For anyone with soup coupons, New Covent Garden Soup HP £1.05 and 84p on My picks

And mine plus a single thin chilli 3 or 4p
I have noticed this week that couple of the smaller superstores have stopped selling some of the loose veg again, only things loose now are carrots, chillies and bananas.

I never got any reduced price cream last year, but this year I have.
So, like you, have also made butter again.
3 x 300ml used last night, and a further 3 pots to use tonight. 900ml is the maximum amount I can use, to minimise the splatter!

Thanks Zippy, for reminding me that weighing differently counts twice! My fillers often include a tin of peas for the food bank and cream crackers for us. I don’t buy sweets either.0
