    For those making butter from cream, remember that if you do put a bag over your mixer be careful not to overheat your motor, my mixer has a splatter guard otherwise it would be carnage:rotfl:[/QUOTE]

    I'm thinking (if I get cheap cream) using hand mixer by putting mixers through a clear bag...so the bag covers the bowl.

    Always mean to ask what people do with all the 10p fillers that are bought?

    Be careful with the new plastic 5 and 10 notes

    OH takes dog out for walk each night and has found £60 since mid nov.

    Too many of these notes are flying out of pockets because they won't fold into a tight bundle... or hold/attach onto anything!

    Helloooooooo:):hello::hello:

    Is it still not worth buying the beans and sausages at 7p a large tin and just using the beans if you don’t like the sausages?:)

    Just a thought:)

    If you are going to do this, consider putting the sausages out for the birds?

    And an elite Christmas tradition, nit sure who started it but I buy all reduced cream now. I made nearly 6 lb butter this is my share after dd took some.

    I found three medium sized pots the other day and they have been in the fridge waiting to be made into butter. I find it is better if I don't do it straight away. Now they are out ready to be made into butter tomorrow when they will be at room temp.

    I hit gold whoopsying tonight. First A had a whole shelf full of cream reduced to 2p and 3p. I got loads and intend to make lots of butter. Thank you, everyone, for the warning about splashing and overheating. I tend to keep an eye on it and tip out the buttermilk as it emerges, but I've never made a huge amount so will find a plastic bag as advised -- the splatter guard won't be enough.

    Then I went to Morries for a duck for new year and I got so many cocktail sausages in Morries (no-one else was interested) as well as sausagemeat and other stuff that I have had to turn on my old freezer in the garage. It was waiting to be ebayed as I have a brand new one in there now. I'd been thinking that I was missing out on whoopsies these days, but no longer.
