New place, fresh start..

Hello all

I've decided to start a new diary catch up on my old musings here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5485047

I've just moved into a place of my own after a crazy year, relationship breakdown, moving back to my home area, getting a new full time job.

I'm still in debt but more determined to clear it than ever, I feel like having my own place and to a point being in control of most things will help. I can batch cook, use the slow cooker to it's full potential!!

Anyway off to complete my SOA and will post it here..

Feeling positive..

Welly x

    Right so a few things:
I'm owed around £500 from the tax man hopefully at the end of the month, this will be used to pay a chunk back to friend 2. She needs the money back ASAP friend 1 has said he will wait as long as needed to get paid back he wants me to sort my cards out first.

Bills (electric, oil and water have been estimated as only been here a few weeks) will have a clearer idea of this in a few months as electric is quarterly and oil as and when (got 2 thirds of a tank at present).

My fuel usage has been cut massively as I'm only 2 miles from work now, I will cycle in summer but I'm still in the sticks so still need a car to get around.

Oh Congratulations on your new start, move and debt busting!

Your water rates seem high. I'm in a 4 bed house with 4 of us living here and I pay £29 a month. Maybe something you could look into? Not sure how a water meter works in rented?

Hi Louby thanks for visiting :)
As far as I'm aware it's on a standard rate as no meter here.. I'm estimating at the moment as waiting for a bill from them as the agent was informing them I was moving in...

I'm so out of sync with water bills was very lucky in the last house my sister and I rented it came from a well up on the moor and the estate used to charge us £50 a year! We just paid the waste charge which was £140 a year I think. So will see shortly.

Started christmas shopping today (leaving it late I know) and got a mass of stuff from Primark so it's 90% done which is a weight off my shoulders.. thankfully everyone has been understanding about only getting a few bits this year.

My new bed is being dropped off tomorrow and I cannot wait.. sleeping on an air bed is entertaining to say the least...

Well it's Tuesday and I feel awful.. woke up around 4am with terrible stomach ache and I'm exhausted.. Have been trying to get my anemia sorted for a while but it's really bad these last few days.. aches, pains and dizziness and pure exhaustion :( boss makes me feel really guilty so I can't take time off..

Nothing much to report on the money front hoping to sell a few bits after Christmas to make a few more quid.. have a good day everyone..

  • I hope you're feeling better. It's bad enough that you feel ill, you certainly don't need extra guilt piled on by your boss.
