I'm glad you had a lovely xmas. I've eaten too much and don't want to start thinking about my new year's diet resolutions0

Oh Misty I'm the same!! I've put on so much weight tho even worse working and all the biccys and chocolate we get!!
I'm just looking for a second job I need to earn an extra income just throw at my debt so I can relax a little.. I will look for something that's evenings hopefully can find something ad hoc so just do as and when as I don't want to exhaust myself but will do as much as I can when I feel up to it...
I'm rambling but I just want rid of it all asap, wish I wasn't so useless...

It's 2:08 and I can't sleep.. so I turned my laptop on and have paid some bills as it's pay day!
I got my tax back that I was owed and have had a nice wage this month, just thinking how nice it would be to get that all the time! alas I'd have to work two full time jobs on my wage to earn that much.. nothing like something to make you more determined to earn a decent wage.
So I've paid a water bill I had received that's paid until March, I've paid back £400 I owe to friend one and have put 200 aside and will pay the rest back at the end of January.
I got my upgrade on my phone, price has stayed the same but lots more data combine that with my mobile dongle and I have more than enough internet every month - this will stop me going over my data limit as it is currently costing me alot more than £29.50 a month.
Car insurance is due at the end of the month, will see how much I can get this down to.
Still looking for another PT job, if I could earn as much as I've been paid this month even if just for 6 months I'd be able to get rid of the debt in no time and get some decent savings behind me.
Needs must, been a really hard, exhausting, draining week at work four days off after today and boy will I be glad of it!

Well I've concluded I hate insurers... renewal came through, I drive a 1.6 astra live in a low crime area, have been driving 10 years, have 5 years no claims yet they still want £104 a month with my renewal!!!
Safe to say I told them to stick it! I can get it down to about £50 a month which of course is much better and better than the £77 I was paying.
I also desperately need a freezer, I am lucky that I get given free game and need space to store it. I bought a second hand under counter one but it's not working properly so I've found a decent deal in the AO sale so will see if I can afford it or not.
Have had a lovely new year, back to work tomorrow...

Well I had a days holiday today, I had taken it off so I could wait in for my new freezer to be delivered but by the time my boss approved it there was no delivery spots left for today so it's now coming on Wednesday my next day off.
So today I went food shopping and filled the freezer, I did however take a list or rather 2 lists one with everything I already have in and things I needed.. stocked up on more than enough stuff for the rest of the month for £60.
I need to stop buying crap at work for my lunch and knock the sausage sandwiches on the head. My scales ain't accurate in this house as every room has carpet, alas I've put on so much weight! My work trousers are cutting me in half and I just look massive and I feel crap, need to hammer that gym membership.
I've been mulling alot over things lately and I really want rid of all the debt asap I want to live here and enjoy it not be scrimping and scraping and worrying all the time. I also want to have a decent emergency fund behind me and get savings sorted for Christmas and get into the habit of saving.
This isn't going to be easy but I will find a way

Gosh you're so right we sound really similar!!! Know that you're not in this alone.
I think the biggest thing for me was realizing that yes, I want to pay off my debt as soon as possible but no, it doesn't need to be now now now.
In terms of costs, I know it sounds silly but have you considered giving up your TV Licence? I haven't had one for nearly 3 years through watching Netflix, Amazon Prime & Now TV, I don't pay for any of the subscriptions as my friends let me use theirs.... For me it freed up an extra £12 a month to chuck at debt.
Also, why are your water rates so high? I only pay £15.00 a month and I have surplus left after my water meters are read, are you on a meter?xxx

Hello Sauce, thanks for reading
yeah I guess so I have got into this mentality that I want to go all guns blazing but then when I think about the bigger picture I may end up pushing myself too far.
No I haven't thought about it really to be honest, I don't have broadband here just mobile so wouldn't be able to use nextflix etc but maybe something to think about for the future.
That is just a guesstimate as I explained in an earlier post I haven't paid a standard water bill for a while so not sure how much it will be and guess it's best to over estimate.
Full of cold still and exhausted two days off after tomorrow, new freezer is coming and a few days just to relax!

Hope you feel better soon, there's so much going round with norovirus, colds, hacking cough etc. I'm drinking SO much water constantly to try and keep my system in gear and keep flushing out potential bugs.
Ah I see, sorry I missed that it was an estimate and I agree wayyy better to overestimate than come up short. If you don't have wifi then might not be worth ridding yourself of your TV license, I just found myself paying for it and never watching it because I found there was nothing ever on so I'd watch stuff on my laptop! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi Wellylass, hope you are feeling better soon! I'm also currently off work with a flu-type bug right now
I'm in a slightly similar situation to yourself, having left my (violent) partner last year, I moved back in with my parents. Now that the ex is out of my life, I plan to get my debt paid off and finally start saving to buy a place of my own

I ve got the hacking cough and cold it's pants.. Hello zacky thanks for passing by, sorry to see your not well too!!
It's rather empowering to be able to get back on your feet and slowly get things how you want them, alas it's not been easy but you just have to keep going and keep thinking positive!!
Days like today I wish I had a twin (Well I do as I am a twin!) but I mean I wish I could do two jobs, it's getting close to lambing time again and I'm getting deluged with job offers for the season.. I'm taking two weeks holiday in April to go lamb for some people I worked for last year so that will be good..
Having a chilled out evening as got two days off now, freezer being delivered tomorrow so no doubt I ll have nightmares tonight about the stairs (don't ever ask about the sofa haha), the joy of living in a first floor flat! I do have my own massive entrance hall but its converted stables so the stairs are tight!!
Then back at work on Friday for 8 days before I have 11 off.. Hope everyone else is well..
