Thank you both, it's a relief after everything that's happened. I'll be glad to get back to paying off more debt and get some sinking funds in place.

I've been contracted 15 hours which is great although I'm hoping I'll be able to do 23 a week as uni quietens down after christmas but least I will have a fixed amount coming in for sure.

They have also said I can do extra hours and bank them up for when I'm on placement so I won't have to work on the weekends when I'll be off which would be ideal but will see how it goes.

Had a bit of a meltdown yesterday uni work is getting harder and I'm struggling, I seem to be a bit all over the place and hiding away from it by sleeping all the time.. I find I do this when I'm stressed I go between hours of deep sleep to hours of being awake and I never feel refreshed..

I'm off uni today so I'm making a plan of action of work.

Flexibility of the job sounds perfect and I'm sure will work well with uni.

You sound like you're doing amazing, don't be harsh on yourself. It's a massive steep learning curve going back to education. Make sure you ask for help for tutors and I bet if you speak to people on your course they all feel the same.

My hubby did his degree by distance learning and it was a huge shock for someone who left school without a single gcse. He kept plugging on and graduated with a respectable 2-1. He's nearly finished studying for his masters now. Hard work but so worth while.

    Keep smiling welly x

So it's Friday! I've just had a half day at uni today so I'm now in my slum clothes in bed doing an assignment.

Normally I'd go to my boyfriends tonight for the weekend but he's going out for someone's birthday tomorrow all day night drinking thing, so I'm using it as an excuse to stay here and do some work and sort my uniform out. First placement is in 2 weeks!!

I think my work are just waiting for references and confirmation of paperwork so really hoping I can get started before christmas so I can get loads of hours done in the holidays!

I'm very skint right now, I will be getting £500 at the end of the month from the savings scheme of my old job so planning a few christmas gifts with it and hopefully save some for my car insurance which is due in January.

Hope you all have a nice weekend :)

3 weeks today and I will have moved :eek::eek:

So much to do and so little time to do it!! I've sold a few more things yesterday so that's another £20 to go in the pot.

I'm trying to find a charity or someone who has just got their own place and maybe doesn't have much. I have loads of kitchen utensils that I don't need and plates etc that might be useful to someone. I know you can get these things really cheap these days but I started with one set of cutlery one plate and a glass off my mum when I moved in here so it all helps!!

This next week is my last full week at work  I'm so excited but terrified at the same time!! My student finance has been reconfirmed so that's good so just waiting on a start date for my job now.

I've also decided to start matched betting again, I found it so easy last time I kind of gave up due to my own patience as I didn't have a big bank roll to be doing the decent offers.

As the saying goes every little helps!

What course are you studying at uni? Matched betting will be helpful, if you can find the time. I found it so time consuming despite numerous people on forums claiming they do half an hour a week and earn a minimum of £3000 a week  :rotfl: I used to spend about 20 hours a week to earn about £25 a week :p I keep meaning to get back into it, but I just don't seem to find time.

Well done to your husband. I left school without any GCSEs and returned to university as a mature student. I initially gained my English and maths GCSEs at night school while working full time, then I did a number of course through the Open University. I had a break of a number of years when I gave to birth to 2 more babies within the space of 15mths, but then returned to a full time university study. I completed my degree, then my postgraduate certificate in education and am now teaching full time (well will be back to full time from January)/ I will be registering to start a masters from next September :D

I believe if you want it badly enough, you can do anything :T
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Haven't updated for a while as I've just been so busy!!

Had a week of placement last week which was a really good experience until the end of the week when my mentor was really harsh with her feedback which was uncalled for. So I had a meeting with my tutor and it's sorted.

Start my job on Friday which is exciting, be glad to get some money coming in again. I'm a bit nervous as I've been out of care work for a while. Hoping I can get some extra hours once I've settled in and get some debt paid off.

I've also got a year free of YNAB for being a student so I've filled it in and going to watch some more videos and try and work it out.

Need to buy christmas presents I'm not really organised as having so much uni work to do!!

Do you need to include anything for books or other supplies? Also I think you should have a small allowance for entertainment or general fun money even if it's not much. You're working hard and you need some treats :).
