Dont think it will break the bank;)

$4 off here http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Nevada/Las_Vegas/Activity_NYNY_Rollercoaster/Rollercoaster.asp and I think I have seen 2 for 1 maybe in the ACG or LVA

Just to add I like rollercoasters, but have decided I prefer woooden ones, the NYNY is so rough, it is a boneshaker

Now I too love rollercoasters but can't stand the wooden ones as I find them too rough. Go figure:confused: .

Speed at the Sahara is supposed to be re-opening soon, enjoyed that more than The Manhattan Express.

    Quiz time guys...

How much do people normally budget to spend per day in Vegas?

(excluding accomodation / car hire etc, so just literallly for food and drink and activities... on average)

    Thanks

It can vary so much it's really hard to say...will really depend on what sort of things you plan to eat and whether you plan to go into any bars/clubs for drinks or take comped drinks while playing in the casinos. We've had days where we've spent less than $20 each (usually only 2 meals a day, maybe a coffee or a snack and rarely pay for drinks) but days where we've spent a lot more than that...attraction prices vary dramatically too...you don't mention gambling so not sure if you're planning not to or consider that part of the 'activities'. You can really do Vegas as cheap or as expensive as you want (especially if you seek out coupons, restaurant.com vouchers, etc.) so may be hard to give an average...there was a time that we had a daily budget of $XX for gambling and $150 for food, non-pre-booked shows, attractions, little bits we would buy...but that was WAY too much most days...so now we just have a daily budget including all food and gambling, etc...some days we spend the lot, others we have quite a bit leftover (and we have historically brought back 33-50% of our spending money - not that I keep track :))...it really varies quite dramatically depending on the specifics of the day.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

re: NYNY Manhatten Express - just speaking to the missus about it and she thought it was quite a long ride...

she was scared shitless though so it probably did feel quite long :D lol

re: daily budget, we probably weigh in quite low at budgeting $200 per day

always works for us though (there are days when we spend less... it just makes the following day a bit more lavish tho! :) )

We allow $300 a day for gambling, but never use all of it, in fact if I lost $300 for 3 days running I would stop. Everyday expenses are around $50 for food and bits and bobs. Golf comes in at about $150 as we play twice, then there is Tracy's shopping bill. Last trip she bought 2 Betsy Johnson dresses for $800, a pair of Louboutains for $800, and a Herve Leger dress for, wait for this, $1,200:eek: Oh, and the Marciano coat and tops.;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

My apologies to the OP - I thought he was a Virgin Holidays [strike]mug [/strike]customer :)

It was through Virgin Atlantic and not Virgin Holidays (who are a lot more expensive).

I agree with previous posts. You can spend as much or as little as you want in Vegas. Meals can be cheap as anything or as expensive as you like. Usually we go to a few buffets but not the high end ones (Bally's Sterling buffet is way to expensive). Never go to standard restaurants as usually want to eat quickly and like the novelty of all you can eat buffets rather than a sit down. Never buy drinks except soda as you can order drinks at the machines or tables without spending too much. Budgeting to take £1,000 for 9 days in April which will cover spends for two of us including meals, gambling (not big gamblers just the slots) and gas for trips out.

If you lost $900 on 3 days gambling you'd stop, yet you pay thousands on materials for a high maintenance woman in your life ? Yeah, and I'm a wealthy billionaire, this is not advice the guy was looking for, your post was merely a bragging exercise.

Depends where you want to eat. Buffets are in the $15-$30 region (breakfast is cheapest), lunch buffets are not generally up to much. Restaurants (especially in the restaurants in Strip hotels) can be very expensive.

What kind of things do you like to eat and would you skip meals so have a big breakfast, no lunch and then eat dinner or only have one main meal and snacks? I'm budgeting around $50 per day per person for food which will more than cover food.
