Thanks SSS. Think some of It may be my expectations too. I think as dd is bright I expect her at times to be more rational and less bouncy!

74p tillytidy made. Broadband issue to address after work. Did a top up shop yesterday of £10.59 on bread, milk, fruit etc to avoid needing school lunches.

Should be a good week ahead, only working 3 days this week and nothing stressful planned as yet! Just need to avoid phone calls and I should make it to Wednesday unscathed!

Thanks Newgirly, got an episode ready to watch :)

That's Helen, doubt I can give it up completely but will cut down. However on Sunday I felt no better. I think I am constantly tired!

Child benefit in account. 60p Tilly tidied, £80 to cc account and £60 left ready to pay off a cc. Am going to leave cash there for a few days as it will leave us with a zero balance! I have £16 in my purse so am going to make that last 7 days until I get paid. It feels like I am paying hardly anything off the cards at the moment which is frustrating. Still lots of month left I guess and DH has been doing a lot of overtime which will make a difference.

Also set myself a new mini challenge.

Drink more water and get back into exercising more regularly. Yesterday's efforts were 2 litres of water and shred. I passed :)

2litres of water drunk and ran just over 2.5 miles after work.

Sorted out broadband issue but it does mean our costs have increased. Not impressed with the very popular company and will leave them ASAP!

Now 6 days until payday and still have £15. DH is doing the food shop tomorrow to use £7.50 voucher before it expires. Hopefully after that can go back to having shopping delivered as it is tricky fitting it in before the school run. I tend to avoid taking the children to the supermarket!

Dd has a birthday party this week so need to check we have card and gift. Also going to a birthday BBQ at the weekend. Will need to buy a gift for that one unless i have something I can regift! :rotfl:

Have a busy morning planned and lots to fit in before we leave at 7:30am, won't be much MSE browsing going on!

Plan for after work is look at ISA account again now it's up and running. Hoping it becomes clearer the more I use it.

Cath - am enjoying (sorry) the children dilemmas and reading about the fads they are going through.

Having just invested in your S&S ISA I know why you want to see what's happening but don't be too put off as markets are in a state of flux at the moment. It is a long term investment and what matters is when you want to draw out. What I am saying is, as an illustration, my ISA has varied between -10% (my money bought me more) and + 50%. It currently sits at +30% and I can not help but look at it daily. Might be good if DH picks a different fund and provider - I use Hargreaves Landsdowne and despite a couple of run ins have found them good. My tip would be to pick a selection of "funds" in which to invest - e.g. 5 x £10 into five different funds which gives you a good indication how each performs.

You are being too polite about your broadband provider - you should name and shame as the "service" you have received does not read well. Your choice - promise I won't harangue you

Hi ahem47, thanks for you post :) still getting to grips with this whole investments business, made a bit of an error this evening but am on the straight and narrow again after receiving some help. It makes more sense now. This forum really is fantastic. In rl friends are on IO mortgages and many have no consideration of their future. I feel quite at home on here :)

Had a really stressful day today :( there has been a bottle of wine in the fridge since Saturday that we didn't drink amd I was half tempted to open it! It is staying there until Friday though.

DH did the food shop, a little over budget as many Items he bought 2 of as they were cheaper. Spends after £7.50 voucher = £57.23

We have another £7.50 voucher and have £5 off an online shop too. Looks like Mr S are trying to keep us!

No workout today but have managed to drink another 2 litres of water. It's harder than it sounds. I'm drinking less coffee as a result so even more health benefits there.

Another NSD today too. £15 to last 5 days - too easy!

    New totals

    Food £231.85
    Petrol £151.31

Morning Cath. What a busy week (life!) you're having, there's no wonder that you're tired. You're making fantastic steps towards investing in you're future though so the hard work will be worth it in the end (although wouldn't it be lovely to go part time - that's what I keep thinking, then I give myself a kick up the bum, remind myself of my goals and sort myself out ;) ).

You've got me thinking about investing in a S&S ISA now...hmmmm.

    Have a good day.

Hi MG, pop over to edinburgher's thread :)

Part time would be fab, especially when I have particularly stressful days at work. I should be MF early 40's so the option should be there in theory. Would prefer DH to go part time first though, he deserves it!
