OK, need help. Tracy saw some women in TI using some finger puppets to bring them luck on the slots. they had 4 or 5 on one hand and were touching the screen while the wheels rolled to bring them luck. Has anyone heard of this before and where could you get these things. hey, we all need luck, and who is to say it doesn't work;)

Thats a way out  there one , even by Vegas standards . was she Chinese as they have some bizarre "good luck" rituals .

almost like the guy who sat in front of us at Phantom of the Opera , with a homemade Frog tea cosy on his head .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I hope he didn't croak it before it finished;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    re:superstitions in casinos

I often thought this at the craps table, saw so many different rituals for luck would like to write them down in a book to be honest would make interesting reading!

To get to the last page, I've bookmarked mine as:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2174765&page=99999999999999

(if that doesn't show, it's the standard thread ID with &page=99999999999 at the end).
I think that should work, as it should try and send you to page 999999999 each time, ie the last. I won't know until we go onto a second page!

I think I modified my old bookmark to this year's threadID of 2174765.

I'll take my geekhat off now.

No need to to that. Just click on the white Tick on a blue background to the left of the topic title and it will take you to the first unread post in the topic.

I'm lazy though, I have this thread in my bookmarks toolbar on Firefox, and usually haven't even been onto the MSE forums before clicking on it. I'll remember the white tick trick now though, thanks!

    (to keep this Vegas-related):
I think we are risking Virgin direct from Gatwick - is it really as bad as some people have made out? We flew United to SFO last year and the seats on the plane they used were v uncomfortable and quite old (certainly compared to the LAX-LHR flight on the way home - the planes were very different). Am I to expect something akin to the old United planes with Virgin?

(have never flown Virgin economy before, y'see)

    it sounds as bad .

Here is the thing . the seats are not comfortable , i always felt like a sardine
, add that to the fact that trying to sit together on your own is a long shot .

i could maybe tolerate the seats if they were arranged that me and the OH could sit together by our selves (i.e a block of 2) . but the 3,4,3 config means that you a are either blocked in or block in a stranger in the 3 block or you sit with other starngers in the 4 block .

the worst long haul flights i have ever took are always the ones where you end up blocked in or next to people you don't know . Thing is economy class does not have to be like this . The Airbus planes on the Virgin LA route were simply brilliant .

also add with the Virgin Vegas flights . poor IFE , Rude staff , poor service , long queues at check in at McCarren ( over an hour last time ... they had only 2 desks for economy ) . i still will not consider that flight again till they get new planes.

But it is direct and it is cheap (sometimes) . you need to balance everything up against that .

its not terrible, depends who you normally fly with
having flown with aerocarribean, cubana, african internal flights, its actually not bad in the global scale of thing.
Yes its not top of thier fleet though and if you travel regulally with nice airlines you will feel it isnt upto scractch
IFE ok, have movies, tv and radio. (much more than was flying in the early 90's). i found flight crew pleasant though will re iterate the problem with check in at the vegas end.
I was comfortable however did oay 30£ extra for the extra legroom seats, worth it imo at 3 pound an hour for so much more comfort.
would most likely avoid the "fire escape" seats though, as people tend to hang around there in your space while waiting for the toilet etc..
personally, would much rather have a quicker flight less travelling and not having to change a flight and put up with a slightly older plane.
    other option is BA>?
