    If the menu pops up every time you press 0 or Ctrl key, then the Fn lock is on. To turn the Fn Lock off press the Fn Lock button.

    The alternate function of the 0 key in the number pad or the Ctrl key on some models is to open a menu. This is indicated by the blue menu icon on the key.

    You can access this function normally by pressing the Fn key and the 0 or Ctrl key.

    The only buttons that work as far as I can see are the arrow keys TAB and ESC

    Daughter just said that the battery fell out when she moved it. So I bet its something to do with that.

    Thats great thanks that is what im getting up but that's how to boot from usb not sure if thats what I want

    i presume you need to boot from SATA HDD which is where your operating system is installed? Unless your trying to boot from usb to install a replacement operating system ?
