Been awol yet again.......
It's coming to the end of another year and I've probably been thinking too much about things. Still, on the positive side, the gorgeous girly (DD) is 18 on Friday She didn't want anything 'big' for her birthday (she struggled to choose a Pandora charm which my mother insisted on buying - amongst lots of other things) so she's got lots of smaller presents - including a HP wand, Gryffindor gloves, a Hogwarts Express cushion (she's a major HP fan ), books (she's collecting clothbound classics) a me-to-you 18 teddy (her only request - to go with her 13 and 16 teddies!), Jack Wills underwear & socks , chocolates, Costa giftcard and some other bits n pieces. We're still paying for driving lessons (£850 so far!!) too. She's going to Nandos with friends (we're picking up the bill) and then a sleepover here (the boys are coming back after the meal, but not sleeping over lol) She's the first of her friends from school to turn 18. Thankfully they are - in the main - a very sensible lot! I do need to get her a cake - I forgot to order one so will have to see what I can find to buy in Cheltenham on Friday (fingers crossed! - eek!) - scratch that - have just ordered one from Patisserie Valerie : D Not bad for a last minute one!
Hmm - will have to come back and finish update - just noticed the time - need to go and collect DS1 from Army Cadets!

Lucky DD - what a lovely collection of presents and treats :j
Do you have a set budget that you work to for birthdays for your children? I love when the children's birthdays roll around each year but I'm always debating how much to spend overall, i.e. presents, party and cake, etc.Mortgage - £105,5000 -
That could have been my birthday list. :rotfl:
Which wand did she get? (I've got Herminone's Alohomora!). I'm also in the market for clothbound classics :smileyhea and that Hogwarts Express cushion keeps calling my name...a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
No wonder you were AWOL! Hope DD has a lovely, lovely birthday weekend2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Happy 18th wishes!0
