does your current account balance shows on your credit report?

Hello everyone,

I can see all my accounts are listed on my credit report showing balance 0.

I was just wondering, if I have to deposit let's say 10k into one current account, let's say barclays, will that show on my credit report?

Or does it shows the balance only if you have an overdraft or loan or a credit card?

I am so confused.

Comments

  • No - only if you have an overdraft then it will show the amount you are "overdrawn" by.

As !!! says - the 0 says you are not overdrawn - a figure would say how much of the overdraft limit you are using if applicable.

One of my current accounts is over 40 years old and does not appear on my credit report. Would it start to appear if I used part of my overdraft facility for a day or two?

Have you checked all of the CRAs? It may not appear on one but will on others. The other thing is with it being so old is that sharing your data with CRAs wasn't around when you opened it and they may not have updated their agreement with you to share the data so possibly not. I have a very old basic account that doesn't report at all yet some basic accounts do report now.

Thank you. The account does not appear on any of the three CRAs. I also have a credit card which I have used regularly for over 40 years that does not appear anywhere.

I asked NatWest to report them but they never did although they did pay me compensation for mismanaging my first request for the accounts to be reported.
