Dear atos rep, can you deny that recordings are made of attendants while thay are in the waiting room, and that their behaviour in the waiting room forms part of the assesment.

    Thank you

ATOS rep, my question appears to be one of the many you have overlooked. Or is it that you can't deny it? It would be good to know, seeing as we are paying your wages...
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

They can't deny it because it's actually written into their protocols (http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/wca-handbook.pdf). Pages 44, 69 and 73 (and possibly others) tell the HCP to observe the client in the waiting area.

The question really is do they also observe people outside of the building etc after all, I am sure that these assessment centres will have CCTV outside to "prevent and detect" crime.

From what people have said, All people that visit there centers have reported that there are cameras outside of the building. and In the hall ways. Waiting rooms.

    On the plus side,

I have never spoken to anyone that has reported camera's In the Toilets,

Of course they have over 100 centers In the UK, So There might be some that don;t have them But I have never spoken to anyone that has been to a center and said there were no camera's .
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

    To the ATOS Rep

Can a HCP stop a claimant from conferring/talking or gesturing, with his or her chaperone at the so called Medical.

    Hi nogginthenog.

A HCP would not try and stop someone from talking or conferring with their companion. We recognise that a companion may provide a valuable contribution and discussion between claimant and companion can help this. However, the assessment and discussion will always be focused towards the claimant. The health care professional would explain how they will proceed at the assessment.

When it comes to dealing with the likes of Atos you should take nothing for granted. Yes you will be observed within the assessment centre not only by the "HCP" but also the receptionist and the internal security cameras. Personally I wouldn't put it passed these people from watching you leave the assessment centre from an overlooking window if they have one and also if they have checking the external CCTV.

Don't forget Atos are there to throw sick and disabled people off their benefits.

Given the horrendous accounts by MPs of how Atos treats sick and diabled people I wouldn't put anything passed them to achieve their targets.

Question to the Atos PR Rep.

How many "Atos doctors" or "Healthcare professionals" are currently under investigation by the General Medical Council over allegations of improper conduct?

If you aren't prepared this answer this question just say!

    Hi Raksha

If CCTV is in place in an assessment centre and/or as part of the building that it is in it will never be used for the purposes of the Work Capability Assessment, but is for the safety of all staff and visitors. The HCP will take observations of the person being assessed while they are with them, which would include in the waiting room when they meet them there.

    Hi Redman

If you can send the evidence to the address in our profile we can investigate the circumstances. If there is no referral from DWP to Atos Healthcare it isn’t possible for us to progress with a Work Capability Assessment, even if a questionnaire is somehow sent out and returned.

It is not up to me to do ATOS's work for them, just look on the many forums for evidence of this. (I am sure ATOS do any how)
" even if a questionnaire is somehow sent out and returned."

This is more or less an admission that is does happen.

How can this possibly occur when you state that the DWP instigates all ESA50's being sent out to people, by referral only ?

How can it be that people are receiving ESA50's, and yet the DWP know nothing about a referral ?

In one such case, the person in question was told to return it "Blank" .

Obviously this poor person was petrified that they would then be penalised for not returning it.

How do the DWP refer to ATOS, is it actually done by a person ?, or as I suspect, do ATOS have access to people's dates of reassessment ?

Another question, who carries out a pre-board check on a claimant, is it the DWP, or is it ATOS ?

Are you sure Atos takes the safety of its visitors seriously!!!

    Hi Redman

you would need to ask the DWP about their processes for referring to us. I can confirm though that Atos Healthcare do not have access to people's dates of reassessment.
