My home is a mess

Morning..... been rather busy over past few months but am resurfacing again. The flat, aka storage unit with optional bedroom, is in danger of looking like a home. Kitchen, bathroom and living area are actually sorted out.
My office area is still breeding quite nicely and i haven't made it into the bedroom. I have lost count of the trips to the tip and bin bags removed either to the binmen or charity shops.
Today I have:
loaded washing machine for third time
bread maker on
chickpea and spinach curry in the slowcooker
Still need to do some sewing repairs so will bribe myself with some coffee and a good dvd.
Happy Sunday fellow messies

Morning Messies
I am in a strange sort of mood today. My body and brain seem to think I am an unstoppable terminator that doesn't need sleep. I went to bed a 3.45am and was up again at 6.00 cleaning the grouting in the bathroom with a steamer.
I am onto my 3rd load of washing and the D/W has been on and emptied and the kitchen is clean and tidy.
At some point today I think my body will realise just how knackered I am and I will just hit the sofa and never get up, but until then I will go with the flow and keep tidying up like a maniac. :rotfl:
Jacci - Well done on the smoking, I gave up for the exactly the same reason. I had my surgery on 28/11 last year. I really enjoyed smoking and never wanted to give up and nothing my DH or kids said would have ever made me stop, but once I had the health scare and knew surgery was imminent I just decided to give up and smoked my last fag on 28/09.
I can't say that I will never crack, and xmas day night after a very stressful day one of our visitors gave me a few crafty drags of their fag, and I have to say that it wasn't all that exciteing.
Stick with it, and if you can to the point where as Sonastin says you crack and have the odd one every 12 - 18 months thats far better for you, and how I want to remain.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.

Afternoon Messies.
Congrats to Jacci for her great willpower, and to those who know exactly how it feels. Never smoked my self, but my younger daughter's just about given up. Early days yet, but as my OH said, she's so b****y minded, she'll succeed.
For a day of rest, so many of you are on full speed today! :eek:0 -
Thank you BBTHREE its nice to know of someone that has been in the position I am in now and obviously Im very glad that you are ok and that Im going to be too.
Thanks Bearcub, its so easy at the moment its untrue but when those nicotine monsters start bullying me I will tell them exactly where to go!!Best wishes to your DH in her journey.

Afternoon Messies
Everyone sounds like they're doing really well today, I thought I was on the wrong thread for a moment :rotfl:. Not much doing here today, but I've just had to pop to Mr T to get a shower mat for the bottom of the bath. This is so we can bath our very elderly dog, he hates baths and will be slipping and sliding so if we put mat down it might make it less scary for him.
If he's that bothered by baths why bother I hear you ask - well, the dog currently smells very strongly of cat wee (and the cat is looking incredibly smug) so the dog MUST be bathed today. Really not looking forwards to this at all. AND then I'll have to clean the bathroom again
Cat, hope you are ok
Helen - sounds like a fab birthday treat, have a great time
jacci - well done on getting this far, you are very inspirational. I shall be watching your progress (and supporting you) as I'm on a 'cut down' plan with a view to going cold turkey in the next few weeks. I think I need to get over to the 'giveing up' thread.
Keep up the good work everyone, hugs to everyone who needs one

Soupdragon - good luck with the kiten move - you`re doing great stuff there!
Jacci (and other smoke-quitters) good luck to you.
Cat - big (Hugs) to you, I`m glad you`re finding support here - they`re good folks, these messies!
FlyMessies - well done you who have done stuff....don`t worry, you won`t have to leave us, we`ll make allowances...!
Messy status report - I`ve cleaned out the fridge..there was nothing motivated about this performance at all. Something nice and fresh once got put in there and LEAKED. Not sure what, but the leakage lurked un-noticed till it was no longer nice & fresh, and suddenly there was a loud MING when I opened the fridge door. It had to be dealt with at once. Now it`s all nice and fresh again.
I`ve also done 2 loads in the WM, stuff hanging around in doorways now, smells nice.
LR a tip - DGD has just left the building. Will have a quick tidy in here, then make a fire. Making a curry for this evening, early night as I`m up at 6 tomorrow. (We had Sunday dinner yesterday!)
Re hospital stuff, toiletries etc. Some places have voluntary groups like the local rotary who donate little packs with tiny sachets of toiletries/combs etc., but these rapidly get used up.
Don`t feel awkward about just popping in and handing over stuff - I`m sure any ward would welcome you!0 -
Emm, I just love the picture you paint of a little 'innocent' lurking, unitl it wasn't innocent anymore! :rotfl:Well done for evicting it, anyway.0
