been onto this site and looked to see if my exchange is 'LLU'???
not sure what that means to me or my exchange but its not listed.
my exchange is in Whitby North yorkshire. but ive looked on the list and not there.
I would like to change to O2 broadband to get my £120 cash back but is this worth it with my exchange not being on the llu list????

Local Loop Unbundling
basically it means BT let the ISP use there cable from your house to the exchange where the ISP connects to there own network not BTs. This is a good thing as BT are close to the worst ISP for traffic shaping, bandwidth throtling and censorship going.
LLU services should be alot faster than running through the BT system.
search for your exchange via your phone number, as exchanges are not always where you think they are.

Thanks, ive rung O2, funny i could not get through to the tech help line to ask questions i was on hold till i gave up. but i rang again and got through in less than 5 seconds on the buy now option.
it seemes my exchange is not LLu and i can only get the access package, which i was told was a little slower and i could only get up to 1meg download speed package.
its also more expensive for me too.
do not think i will go with O2 for now, looks like i will have to stay with Tiscali at the moment and not get the benefits of broadband.
I cant stream those youtube videos or watch my streaming sites, so no sports for me after 4pm.All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

no date yet of 21CN (2011 onwards..)
however you can get orange and talk talk LLU!
neither are brilliant ISPs but you should get much better speed from them
I would try talk talk
there pro service is up to 24mb, unlimited downloads and £15 a month

talk talk only turned on your exchange a few months ago so it may not be showing up
i had the same problem with BE/O2, rang O2 and they said 4mb max, BE said 15mb (got 16mb)
try ringing them, your distance from the exchange, age and quality of the phone line all affect performance.0
