I do my online food shop with Morrisons and if you amend your order the day before they often have some great flash sales on fresh food similar to yellow stickered food in the actual shop. I often get free gifts too, eg mini bottle of wine.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Good luck with your buy no food challenge. It sounds eminently doable.
I have the opposite problem to you with Mr T (I hate Mr M). The store I shop at sells everything, but the one that delivers our online orders is smaller and often doesn't sell what I want .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I've never shopped at morrisons online and it's a long time since I went instore (years
) I just discovered they deliver to me and it looks like the prices of basics are better than sainsbugs where I usually shop.
Well done on being so organised!
Have a lovely day

Thanks for that, SA:T. I certainly didn't know about it.
I often amend my order right up to late evening before delivery day but I've never seen any flash sales anywhere:(. Where do they appear please?0 -

I don't have much choice in my local small town, just a small Morrisons and a slightly bigger Co-op. I find the Co-op very expensive and the staff have a very couldn't care less attitude. I avoid it if I can except that they have a big car park right in the centre of town and refund the whole car park charge of up to 2 hours for £2 if you spend something like £5 in store. Well worth it on days I need to do a lot in the town centre as free on-road parking, if you're lucky enough to find a space, is only available for 30 minute stays:mad:
I love Morrisons own brand products and I find the prices very reasonable as they have some good offers on. Definitely cheaper than Sainsburys.0 -
You've encouraged me to check whether Morrisons deliver to my area - and they do! I'd no idea, I'm very chuffed. Will be researching properly now2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thank you:T. I'll give the food challenge a go anyway, might be fun as well as profitable but I expect I'll be scratching my head for ideas by the very end of the month:rotfl:. There's only so much you can do with tinned butter beans especially if you're not vegetarian. I appear to have overbought there:eek:. OH is a real carnivore:(
I know it wouldn't work for you with 3 grown up sons and a husband to feed, especially as your youngest has turned into a night-time snacker since he's been away at Uni:eek:. It is your son, isn't it? Apologies if I've mixed him up with someone else's:o . I recall that you consume a lot more milk than we do too. I only need fresh milk for cereals and tea. I drink gallons of tea but OH and I both like our coffee black. I only have about 2 coffees a week, this week I haven't had a single one yet, so it wouldn't make much difference even if I did use milk in it.0 -

CBC - an inventory is the best place to start a store cupboard/freezer challenge! It's the place to learn about past 'bad' shopping & squirreling habits and where you can learn to amend your strategies!
OH & I are coming to the end of our current 2 week eat from the stores game & the three lessons I've learned this time round are:
1) much as I love pickled gherkins & cucumbers - six assorted types are not necessary! - no matter how much they remind me of home (across the pond):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
2) we will never buy steel-cut oatmeal again, even by accident!:o 40 minutes cooking time is only doable on vacation vs 4 minutes in the microwave for rolled porridge oats:o
3) we do not use our frozen bone broth quickly enough & need to get back to homemade risottos & soups to do this - also freezing broth in smaller jars as 1L is too much for 2 people!
Will be waiting to hear of any interesting ingredient combinations you discover in your quest to slash the food budget this month! (even butter beans - which my OH loves!)
