Church of Christ's Attic.
Rijksmuseum
I did a cheese tasting which was really good
I personally find the commercialisation of Anne Frank quite problematic, and in particular the huge building which the house is in and queues outside. Why her in particular? (Yes I know her diary was found and publicised by her father... And that her story is emblematic, but.).
There are thousands of ordinary people commemorated just with little brass plaques outside the homes they lived in (do note them when you come across them)- when I come across these plaques in places all over Europe, I pause and reflect it could happen again2 -
Thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated0

The zoo is great - out of the city is zaanse schanns. Short train/bus ride and is a “working” village type thing with windmills, clog making etc
A canal boat tour is always good
If the daughter is 18+ - the ice bar is worth a visit’s and also Heineken tour
We usually stay at or around d Rembrandts Platz which is a great location and a little quieter than some areas (not cheap though)1 -
I've booked to go with my Daughter, we're staying at Hotel Estherea though we aren't going until next year.
Our plans are to see Body worlds (not my cup of tea)
The rembrandt and monet interactive experience
Anne Frank house as that felt a little obligatory.
I'm also hoping she'll want to visit kuekenhof gardens.
A canal boat ride
I'm a little tempted to hire bicycles but neither of us have rode a bike for years so will likely give that idea a swerveMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

BTW any hotel is fine as public transport is brilliant in Amsterdam. (Opposite of the UK)
There are trams, buses and a metro subway although that isn't as big as say London.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
